OSRS Gear Compare

Gear Compare lets you put any two equippable OSRS items side-by-side and see exactly how their stats differ — attack bonuses, defence bonuses, strength, prayer, magic damage %, and slot. Useful for deciding whether to upgrade, swap, or sell something.

It pulls live item data from the OSRS database, so the stats reflect the current game (including Project Rebalance changes).

Type or pick the first item in the left dropdown, then the second in the right dropdown. The tool fills in the stat columns for both immediately and highlights every difference: green for the bigger stat, red for the smaller. No need to hit a "compare" button.

Use the share link at the top to send a comparison to a friend — the URL captures both items so they'll see the exact same view.

Every stat that matters for combat:

• Attack bonuses — Stab, Slash, Crush, Magic, Ranged
• Defence bonuses — Stab, Slash, Crush, Magic, Ranged
• Other bonuses — Strength, Ranged Strength, Magic Damage %, Prayer
• Slot — which equipment slot the item occupies

If you're looking at a weapon, the comparison also reflects accuracy and max-hit potential indirectly through these numbers.

OSRS splits weapons into "accuracy weapons" (high Stab/Slash/Crush bonus, lower Strength) and "max-hit weapons" (high Strength bonus, lower attack bonus). The right pick depends on your target's defence:

• Against low-defence monsters (most slayer tasks, raid trash), prioritize Strength — you'll hit more often anyway, so harder hits = faster kills.
• Against high-defence bosses (Vorkath, Hydra, Olm), prioritize accuracy — you need to land hits before max hit even matters.

Most BiS items drop from raids (Tombs of Amascut, Theatre of Blood, Chambers of Xeric) or major bosses (Nex, Phantom Muspah, Vorkath). Mid-tier upgrades come from the Grand Exchange.
