How the OSRS drop rate calculator works
Every kill in Old School RuneScape is an independent roll. A 1/128 drop is 1-in-128 on every kill, no matter how many you have already done. This tool turns a drop rate and your kill count into real odds: your chance of having the drop by now, how dry you are versus other players, and how many kills give you 50%, 90% and 99% odds. Drop rates are pulled from the official OSRS Wiki (CC BY-SA 3.0).
What does “going dry” mean?
Killing a boss far past its drop rate without the drop. There is no pity timer — the per-kill chance never changes, so you can go well beyond the expected kill count. The gauge shows exactly how unlucky that is in percentage terms.
How many kills until I am “due”?
Never guaranteed. At the expected kill count you only have about a 63% chance of having seen it. Use the 50% / 90% / 99% milestones to see real targets.
Can I use a custom rate?
Yes — type any rate in the custom box, e.g. 1/5000 for a visage or 1/3000 for a pet. The calculator works for any drop in the game.
