Eight more training methods on the XP calculator. We checked the calculator against the wiki’s training guides and found methods the guides recommend that the calculator did not list, so at those levels it showed you a slower option as your best. Now added: golem crafting on Wyrmscraig and cutting rubies for Crafting, blessed bone shards at the libation bowl for Prayer, leechfin for Fishing, the Arceuus Library and Cure Me for Magic, stealing artefacts in Port Piscarilius for Thieving, and forgotten brews for Herblore. Every rate is the wiki’s own figure, and where the rate climbs with your level (leechfin, the library, stealing artefacts) it climbs on the calculator too. Blessed bone shards appear from 62 Prayer, because the wiki’s rate for them assumes 62 or higher. Magic and dragonfruit tree runs are not on the list yet, because the wiki gives an hourly rate only for a whole tree run, not for each tree.

The Gear Table now lists gear with no attack bonus that still adds damage. The attack columns only showed an item if it had an attack bonus above zero for that style, so the best pieces went missing. Torva full helm has 0 stab and +8 strength and is the best stab helm, yet the stab head column showed only a Fighter hat. Normal arrows, bolts and javelins were missing from the ranged ammo column too, because they have no ranged attack and all of their power is ranged strength. Armour, jewellery and ammo with zero attack now appear when they have strength, ranged strength or magic damage for that style. Where items tie on attack bonus, the stronger one is listed first, so Dragon arrows now sit above Rune and Bronze arrows. Weapons still need an attack bonus for the style you pick, and gear with a negative attack bonus stays hidden. This is a deliberate change from how the original Gear Table worked.

Removed the expired giveaway popup. A giveaway that had already been drawn was still popping up on some visits, inviting people to enter a draw that was over. It was switched off on 11 September and neutralised on 21 September, and it is now removed from the site completely. There is no popup left to show. If you want to tell us something, the feedback button in the corner of any page is the place, and it never opens on its own.

On boss pages you can now swap any armour slot with the arrows, and your pick stays while you change tier or budget. The finder handed you one setup and no way to change a single piece of it. If you did not have that cape, or you wanted to see what a cheaper helm costs you, the page had no answer. Every armour slot now carries a back arrow, a forward arrow and a reset. Step through the items you can equip for that slot and the finder rebuilds the rest of the setup around your choice, so the damage and the price you see are real for the gear you actually have. Your pick is kept when you press a tier button or drag the budget slider: the page re-ranks everything else and tells you it is showing the best build with your pick. Reset one slot and that slot goes back to what the finder recommends. Weapon and ammo follow the tier you pick and have no arrows, because changing the weapon changes which armour is best and would fight the tier you chose. Bosses that demand a specific item, like heat-protection boots for drakes, still only let you cycle inside the items that work there.

Pin a setup on the Best in Slot page and watch the difference as you swap gear. Trying a cheaper helm or a different weapon meant remembering the old numbers yourself, or opening a second tab and building the whole setup again. Press “Pin this result” and the page keeps a frozen copy of what you have right now. Every change after that is measured against it: the gp the setup is worth, and every attack, defence and strength bonus that moved, each one shown as the pinned number, the current number and the difference between them. It lists the slots whose item changed too, so you can see what the swap actually cost or gained. Replace the pin whenever you want a new starting point, or clear it and the page goes back to exactly how it was. The pin lasts until you leave the page. Nothing changes until you pin something.

Boss pages now build you the gear the guide says you must wear. Some bosses cannot be fought at all without one specific item: heat-protection boots in the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon for drakes, wyrms and the Alchemical Hydra, a mirror shield or V’s shield against basilisks, an anti-breath shield against the Ancient Wyvern, and a facemask or Slayer helmet against dust devils. Every one of those items is worth nothing for damage, and the gear finder ranks by damage, so it threw them out before it started comparing — and then handed you a setup that gets you killed on a page whose own guide says the item is mandatory. The two basilisk pages were the worst: they recommended an empty shield slot. The finder now locks the required slot to the best item you can equip and afford from the ones that actually work, and says on the page which item it locked and why. Your damage figure drops on those bosses, and that drop is the truth — it is what the fight really costs. If more than one item qualifies, the note names the others too, so you are not stuck on one you cannot get. Bosses with no such requirement are completely unchanged. Thanks to everyone who told us the boots were missing.

A Feedback tab now sits on the left edge of every page. Telling us about a bug or an idea meant finding the feedback page and leaving whatever you were doing. The tab is on every page now, so you can tell us without leaving the page you are on. Tap it, type, and send. Your email is optional. We read every message, and the changes on this page are what they turn into.
Fixed
The DPS calculator now names the prayer it turned on for you. The Offensive Prayer control starts on “Auto (best for style)”, and Auto quietly switched on the best prayer your Prayer level allows. At 37 Prayer that is Ultimate Strength, and its strength boost is why the max hit on screen was higher than the one you were hitting in game. The number was right for a prayed-up account. Nothing on the page told you a prayer was on. The result line now says so, for example “Auto prayer: Ultimate Strength”, and it names the melee, ranged or magic prayer that matches the setup you are looking at. Pick a prayer yourself, or pick None, and the line goes away because your own choice is already on the screen. Auto still picks exactly what it always picked. Every number is unchanged. Thanks to the player who reported the 23 against 20 and would not let it go.

Every training method now shows its own time to your goal. The XP calculator gave one time to goal, for the fastest path only. To compare two methods you had to do the arithmetic yourself, and plenty of you told us so. Each method row now carries its own estimate beside its XP per hour. Nothing to click and nothing to expand. A method you have not unlocked yet is timed from the level it unlocks at, and the row says which level that is, so the time and the materials count agree with each other. A method that only unlocks above your goal shows the level it needs and no time, because there is none to give. Thanks to the fourteen of you who asked for this between June and September.

“Build from gear I own” no longer disappears on the boss gear finder. The option was hidden completely unless the RuneLite plugin had already sent us your items. If you looked your account up by name instead, we get your levels and none of your gear — so the option vanished, and nothing on the page said it existed or how to get it. Dozens of you told us the calculator was ignoring the gear you already had. It was not ignoring it. It just never showed you the switch. The option is now always on the page. Until your gear is synced it sits greyed out with one line telling you why, and connecting the RuneLite plugin turns it on. If your gear is already synced the option works exactly as it did, and switching or re-syncing your account will not turn it off on you. Thanks to everyone who reported this. It was the single thing we heard about most.

The ancient rings stop being suggested to accounts that cannot wear them yet. Ultor, Magus, Venator and Bellator are tradeable, so the tool treated them like anything else you can buy. In the game they are not: you have to have killed the ring’s boss during Desert Treasure II before it will stay on your finger, and buying one does not change that. So a low-level account was being handed a ring that would slip straight off. The tool now uses your Magic level as the check — the quest needs 75 Magic and that cannot be boosted, so below 75 we know for certain the quest is not done and the ring is hidden. This is a partial fix and we would rather say so. We have no way to see which bosses you have actually killed, so an account at 75 Magic or above is still shown all four rings even if it has never set foot in the quest. If that is you, the ring is still wrong for you and we are sorry — closing that gap needs information the calculator cannot get today. Ironman builds and accounts at 99 Magic behave exactly as they did before. Thanks to the players who reported it, including the one who worked out the Magic check for us.

The boss gear finder now actually spends your budget. Drag the budget slider and the tool builds you the best gear it can afford — except it was working one slot at a time, and only ever taking a swap that helped on its own. Plenty of the best buys do not work like that. Two pieces together are worth it while neither is worth it alone, so the tool kept refusing both and stopped with most of your money untouched. At Bloodveld on melee with 99s and a 1M budget it was spending 88K and leaving 912K sitting there, showing 8.48 DPS — when a Berserker helm and Dragon boots together cost 302K, fit the same budget, and give you 8.88. It now looks at pairs of slots as well as single ones. It also stopped refusing a swap just because the new item is cheaper: at a 12M budget, dropping an Amulet of fury for a 1,372 gp Amulet of strength is worth nearly 4% more damage and hands you 2.6M back, and you were being denied it for costing too little. Across 10 bosses, 3 styles and 6 budgets, 89 of 180 builds got better, none got worse, and every one still fits its budget — some now cost less than before for more damage. A bigger budget buying less damage than a smaller one is also gone from the builds we measured. Thanks to the player who reported it.

Cooking karambwan the ordinary way is now on the XP calculator. A player pointed out that a cooked karambwan is worth 190 XP against a monkfish’s 150, and that the only karambwan method on the list was the 1-tick one — which needs constant accurate clicking and is not what most people are doing. The plain method is on the list now, from level 30: 141,000 XP an hour when you unlock it, 198,000 by level 60, and 273,000 at 99. The rate climbs because your food stops burning, not because you cook any faster — and it levels off in the high 80s, once karambwan stop burning on you at all. These are the wiki’s own published figures for cooking without tick manipulation. Cook at the Hosidius kitchen up to level 96 — its range gives you a better chance not to burn, and that beats banking speed at this pace — then move to a fire or range next to a bank. Two things worth knowing before you start. You need Tai Bwo Wannai Trio finished, or a raw karambwan cooks into a poison one instead. And cooking gauntlets do nothing for karambwan, so do not buy them for this. The 1-tick method is still on the list and is still about three times quicker if you want to work for it. Thanks to the player who reported it.

The Gemstone Crab is now on the Magic calculator. The crab was already listed under Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints and Ranged, but not under Magic — even though the wiki’s own training guide names it as one of the crabs you can cast combat spells on, and Children of the Sun is the only thing you need to get there. It is on the list now from level 1, and the rate follows the spell you can actually cast: about 7,000 XP an hour on Wind Strike, 21,000 once Wind Bolt unlocks at 17, 49,500 on Fire Blast at 59, and 73,500 on Fire Surge at 95. Magic works differently from melee and Ranged here, so the numbers do too — a spell’s max hit never changes as you level, so your rate sits still between spell unlocks and then jumps at each one. The calculator now steps at all twenty elemental unlocks instead of drawing a smooth line through them, which was reading up to a third too high in the gaps. The rune bill is listed with it, because unlike meleeing or ranging the crab this method costs you something every cast. Be clear about what you are getting: this is not the fastest way to train Magic and the method note says so, since the crab gives 12.5% less XP per hit and has no elemental weakness — Frost Crabs and Rock Crabs both beat it, and alching at the crab is quicker still. The rates are our own estimates from the game’s mechanics, not a published table, and the note tells you where they may run about 10% low. What the crab gives you is safety. Stand to the side of it and it cannot hit you at all, and it never dies, so you can leave it running. Thanks to the players who reported it.

“Hide untradable items” no longer throws away the gear you buy on the Grand Exchange. Charged and inactive weapons keep their stats on an untradable version of the item — but you still buy them on the Grand Exchange, as the uncharged one, which is exactly how this site works out their price. So the box was hiding gear it had just quoted you a price for. A 94 Magic build showed Tumeken’s shadow at 789M, and ticking the box swapped it for a Kodai wand. The box now keeps anything you can buy through its uncharged or inactive twin — Tumeken’s shadow, Scythe of vitur, Sanguinesti staff, Bow of faerdhinen, Blade of saeldor, Voidwaker, the Toxic blowpipe and 205 more — on the best-in-slot page, the boss gear finder and the gear table alike. Gear you genuinely cannot buy in any form, like the Fire cape, the Infernal cape and the Fighter torso, still disappears when you tick it, which is what the box is for. Thanks to the player who reported it.

The DPS calculator now works out the Eclipse atlatl’s max hit the way the game does. The atlatl is the one ranged weapon that hits with your melee strength bonus and your Strength level, not your ranged strength — and it and its darts carry no ranged strength at all, so the calculator was doing all its damage maths on a zero. At 99s with an Amulet of torture, Dragon boots and Barrows gloves it showed a max hit of 13 under Rigour where the real figure is 26. It now reads your Strength level and your melee strength bonus for the damage, so melee gear finally counts for something on an atlatl setup. Accuracy is unchanged and still uses your Ranged level. The melee Salve amulet and Salve amulet (e) now add their damage against undead targets, and a black mask on task gives the melee bonus. Melee prayers still do nothing for it, which is correct — use Rigour or Eagle Eye. No other weapon’s numbers have moved. Thanks to the player who reported it.

The Hunter’s spear now uses your Strength the same way the atlatl does. The spear is the other ranged weapon that hits with your melee strength bonus and your Strength level. Its own ranged strength is zero, so the calculator was doing all its damage maths on that zero, exactly as it was for the atlatl. At 99s with an Amulet of torture and Dragon boots it showed a max hit of 13 under Rigour where the real figure is 25 — and raising your Strength did not move the number at all. Both now count. Accuracy is unchanged and still uses your Ranged level, the melee Salve amulets add their damage against undead targets, and a black mask on task gives the melee bonus. Melee prayers still do nothing for it, so use Rigour or Eagle Eye. The spear takes no ammunition, so leave the ammo slot empty. No other weapon’s numbers have moved.

Gear with the same strength bonus is now all listed, so you can find it and pick it. When several pieces give the same strength and accuracy bonus, the calculator was only ever showing you one of them. At 75 Defence on slash, the body slot lists Fighter torso — and Bandos chestplate, Inquisitor’s hauberk and Blood moon chestplate all match those bonuses, so none of them appeared anywhere. Tap a slot on mobile and search for “bandos” and you were told no items match, for a chestplate you can wear. All of them are now in the list, on the gear table and in the tap-to-list picker, each with its own DPS worked out for your setup — so where a set bonus makes one of them better or worse than it looks on paper, the list says so instead of lumping them together. Nothing about the recommended setup changed — the same gear is still picked, there is just more of it you can see and choose from.

Aether runes are now on the Runecraft calculator. Aether runes have been craftable since May 2025 and are the fastest way to train Runecraft on your own from level 90, but the calculator did not know about them — so a level 90 account was told soul runes at 44,000 XP an hour were the best it could do. The method is now there at 99,000 XP an hour, rising to 104,000 by level 99, and it takes over as the fastest path at 90. Because the true Soul Altar is out of reach you craft these at the Cosmic Altar with Magic Imbue, so the soul runes and the aether catalyst you have to bring are both listed with the method, along with the 82 Magic and Lunar Diplomacy it needs. Thanks to the player who reported it.

The budget slider no longer hands you arrows, bolts or darts your account cannot use. On the Best-in-Slot calculator, setting a gp budget filled every slot from the gear your filters allow — except the ammunition slot, which kept picking the strongest ammunition in the game. With enchanted bolts hidden and a 5M budget, the calculator still handed out a Dragon crossbow loaded with Ruby dragon bolts (e). It now picks ammunition from the same pool as everything else, so a free-to-play or ironman account with the budget slider set is no longer shown a bolt or a dart it cannot get. The blowpipe picks from the darts you allow too. Leave the slider on “Max stats” and every build is exactly as it was.

The cheaper setups below the best-in-slot one now respect your gear filter. A boss page shows three builds — the best one, a near-best one and a budget one. The top build always used only gear you can get, but the two cheaper rows were picked from every item in the game. At Vorkath a maxed melee build put a Golden chef’s hat, an Amulet of rancour and a Brimstone ring in the cheaper rows, none of which the filter allowed. All three rows are now built from the same gear pool, so an ironman or a free-to-play account is not shown a cheaper setup it cannot assemble. The best-in-slot row is unchanged, and turning the filter off leaves every build exactly as it was.

Building from the gear you own no longer hands you ammunition you do not have. On a boss page, “Build from what I own” filled every slot from your own bank — except the arrow, bolt and dart slot, which kept picking the best ammunition in the game. Owning a Rune crossbow and Bronze bolts at Artio gave you the crossbow loaded with Ruby bolts (e). It now shows the Bronze bolts you actually own, and the same goes for a blowpipe and your darts. The obtainability filter reaches that slot too, so an ironman or a free-to-play account is no longer offered a bolt it cannot get. Thanks to the player who reported it.

The DPS calculator no longer lets you pick an attack style your weapon cannot use. The Attack Style menu offered all three sets — Melee, Ranged and Magic — whatever you had equipped, so you could choose Aggressive while holding a Toxic blowpipe. It accepted it and quietly worked out a lower number: with 88 Ranged at the Gemstone Crab it showed 5.75 damage a second where Rapid gives 8.62. The styles your weapon cannot use are now greyed out, and if one is still selected the calculator falls back to that weapon’s normal style instead of scoring a stance that does not exist. A weapon that really can do two things — a whip you also cast with — keeps both. Thanks to the player who reported it.

Budget ranged setups now use enchanted bolts, so a crossbow is no longer passed over. When you set a gp budget on a boss page, the finder worked out what each crossbow was worth using plain bolts and never checked the enchanted ones — so it rated every crossbow far below what it really does and handed you a ballista instead. At Artio with 76 Ranged and a 1.1M budget it showed a Heavy ballista at 3.65 damage a second, while a Dragon crossbow with Ruby dragon bolts (e) does 5.02 for less money. Enchanted bolts are now weighed on this path too, exactly as they already were everywhere else. Thanks to the player who reported it.

Trimmed and gold-trimmed armour is no longer suggested to free-to-play ironmen. The gold-trimmed, trimmed and heraldic versions of bronze, iron, steel, black, mithril, adamant and rune armour can be worn in free-to-play, so they were turning up when you unticked “Hide Variations” — but they only come out of easy, medium and hard clue scrolls, which need membership. A free-to-play main can still buy them all on the Grand Exchange, so nothing changed there, and an ironman with membership keeps them too. The three that beginner clues do drop — the trimmed monk’s robes and the trimmed amulet of defence — are still shown, because a free-to-play ironman really can get those.

You can now enter your Slayer level. There is a new Slayer box beside your combat levels on the Best-in-Slot calculator. Leave it blank and nothing changes — you see every item, exactly as before. A stalled price file no longer leaves the calculators blank forever. If the item price data stopped part-way through loading, rather than failing outright, the page never started the rest of its scripts — so the gear doll stayed empty and nothing ever happened, however long you waited. The Boss Gear Finder now picks the best attack style for your budget. When you set a gold limit, it kept the style that wins with unlimited money and then priced that style at your budget.
