OSRS Cooking Calculator

Cooking is one of the fastest and cheapest 99s in the game. You work up through fish — trout, then tuna and lobster, then sharks and anglerfish — and the standout is 1-tick karambwan cooking, which hits around 480k XP/hr once you get the rhythm. A spot near a bank and a range (or the Hosidius kitchen for fewer burns) is all you need.

  2. Lvl 25 Cooking salmon 140,000 XP/hr
  3. Lvl 30 1-tick karambwan 480,000 XP/hr

1-tick karambwan is the speed method but takes practice; cooking sharks or anglerfish is far more relaxed if you'd rather AFK it.

Cooking calculator — FAQ

What's the fastest way to train Cooking in OSRS?

1-tick cooking karambwan is the fastest Cooking XP at around 480k XP/hr, but it's a precise tick-manipulation method. If you want something simpler, cooking sharks or anglerfish at a range next to a bank is much more forgiving.

How do you stop burning food while cooking?

Burn rate drops as your Cooking level rises and with the right equipment — cooking gauntlets help with certain fish, and the Hosidius kitchen gives a 5% lower burn chance. Pick a fish you stop burning at your level so you're not wasting stock.

Is Cooking an expensive skill?

No — it's one of the cheapest 99s, and you can often train it on fish you catch yourself (great for ironmen) or buy cheaply from the GE. The main cost is your own time, since the fast methods need attention.
