Voidwaker

“A truly fearsome weapon.”

The Voidwaker is a slash weapon that needs 75 Attack to wield and swings every 4 ticks (2.4s). Its draw is the Disrupt special attack: a guaranteed hit dealing 50-150% of your max melee hit as Magic damage for just 50% energy, making it the go-to spec weapon against high-Defence, lower-HP targets in PvM and a reliable finisher in PvP. It's built from three rare Wilderness-boss drops reassembled by Madam Sikaro for 500K coins, and trades around 40M on the Grand Exchange.

Equipment bonuses

The Voidwaker offers +80 slash and +80 strength with a 4-tick (2.4-second) attack speed, putting its raw melee output below dedicated grinders like the abyssal whip on accuracy but well ahead on its special attack.

Those stats only ask for 75 Attack, so almost any mid-game main can carry one purely as a spec weapon even if it never sees use as a main-hand.

How to get the Voidwaker

The Voidwaker is not a single drop. It is assembled from three separate tradeable parts, each a rare drop from one of the three core Wilderness bosses (or their lesser, instanced counterparts):

  • Voidwaker blade — dropped by Vet'ion
  • Voidwaker hilt — dropped by Callisto
  • Voidwaker gem — dropped by Venenatis

Once you have all three, take them to Madam Sikaro in the Ferox Enclave Dungeon, who reassembles the weapon for a fee of 500,000 coins. You cannot combine the pieces yourself — attempting it returns the message that you don't have the skills to reassemble it. Because every part is tradeable, most players simply buy the finished Voidwaker outright on the Grand Exchange rather than farm the three bosses.

Disrupt: the Voidwaker special attack

The Voidwaker's special attack, Disrupt, consumes 50% of your special attack energy and deals a guaranteed hit of Magic damage between 50% and 150% of your maximum melee hit. It also grants 2 Magic experience per point of damage dealt.

Because the hit always lands and ignores the target's Slash accuracy, it shines against enemies with high Defence but low-to-medium Hitpoints — the Kalphite Queen, the God Wars Dungeon bosses, and Phosani's Nightmare are textbook targets where Defence reduction does little and dragon claws would average less. At 50% energy you also get two casts per full bar, so it pairs naturally with other spec weapons in a burst.

The catch is that the damage is Magic-typed: it is reduced against anything with Magic damage resistance, such as a player using Protect from Magic or the Great Olm's melee claw. It deals full damage against the Corporeal Beast, and against Nylocas Vasilias in the Theatre of Blood it only hurts the blue (magic) form.

Is the Voidwaker worth it?

For a spec-attack slot, the Voidwaker is one of the best-value purchases in the mid-to-late game. It is the rejuvenated successor to RuneScape 3's Korasi's sword, and unlike that untradeable original it asks only 75 Attack and can be bought finished on the GE for roughly 40M.

Where it earns its keep is consistency: a guaranteed 50-150% spec means no wasted special-attack energy on a missed hit, which is exactly the failure mode of accuracy-dependent specs like dragon claws against high-Defence bosses. It is not a replacement for a main-hand grinder — for sustained damage the abyssal whip or a stronger melee weapon does more — but as a finisher and a burst tool it slots into almost every melee setup. If you mainly farm gear and just need the gold to grab one, the Boss Gear Finder shows where it fits in a loadout.

Voidwaker FAQ

What level do you need for the Voidwaker?

Only 75 Attack. Despite the original poll blog stating it would need 75 Attack, 75 Strength, and 60 Magic, the released weapon requires only level 75 Attack to wield.

How do you get the Voidwaker?

You assemble it from three rare tradeable parts: the blade from Vet'ion, the hilt from Callisto, and the gem from Venenatis (or their lesser counterparts). Bring all three to Madam Sikaro in the Ferox Enclave Dungeon and pay 500,000 coins to have it reassembled — or just buy the finished weapon on the Grand Exchange.

What is the Voidwaker's special attack?

It's called Disrupt. It costs 50% special energy and lands a guaranteed hit of Magic damage between 50% and 150% of your maximum melee hit, plus 2 Magic XP per damage dealt. The guaranteed hit is what makes it so reliable against high-Defence enemies.

How much does the Voidwaker cost?

It trades around 40M on the Grand Exchange. Because all three component parts are tradeable, the finished weapon has a live market price — check the price tracker above for the current figure.

Is the Voidwaker good for PvM?

Yes, as a spec weapon. Its guaranteed Magic-damage special excels against bosses with high Defence and low-to-medium Hitpoints — like the Kalphite Queen, God Wars Dungeon bosses, and Phosani's Nightmare — where dragon claws or Defence-reduction weapons would average less. It is weaker against targets that resist Magic damage.

Is the Voidwaker the same as Korasi's sword?

It's the Old School successor to RuneScape 3's Korasi's sword and shares the Disrupt special-attack name. The key differences: the Voidwaker is tradeable, needs only 75 Attack (not the old quest requirements), costs 50% energy instead of 60%, and drops the original's chain-hitting effect.

What are the Voidwaker's stats?

It gives +80 slash, +70 stab, +80 strength, a small +5 magic attack, and a 4-tick (2.4-second) attack speed. Those bonuses are above the original Korasi's sword, but the weapon is really bought for its special attack rather than its raw melee output.

Does the Voidwaker special always hit?

Yes. Disrupt is a guaranteed hit — it ignores the target's Slash accuracy and always deals between 50% and 150% of your max melee hit as Magic damage. That said, the damage is Magic-typed, so it is reduced against anything with Magic damage protection, such as Protect from Magic.

7 August 2024

The special attack animation was updated to use a slightly modified version of the Viggora's chainmace attack animation, rather than reusing that of the dragon warhammer (Poll 82 Changes).
