The abyssal bludgeon is a two-handed crush weapon built by combining three untradeable Abyssal Sire pieces — the bludgeon axon, bludgeon claw, and bludgeon spine. It needs 70 Attack and 70 Strength to wield, attacks every 2.4 seconds (4-tick), and hits with +102 crush and +85 strength. Every one of its attack styles is aggressive, so it trains Strength only. Its Penance special grows stronger the more prayer points you are missing. The assembled bludgeon trades around 17M on the Grand Exchange.
Equipment bonuses
The abyssal bludgeon is a pure offensive two-hander: +102 crush attack and +85 melee strength are its defining bonuses. It has no stab or slash bonus, so it only attacks on crush.

Other bonuses
At a 4-tick (2.4s) attack speed — the same speed as the abyssal whip — and only 70 Attack and 70 Strength required, it delivers fast crush hits, but every style is aggressive so it can only train Strength.

How to get the abyssal bludgeon
The abyssal bludgeon is not a direct drop — it is built by having The Overseer combine three untradeable components: the bludgeon axon, bludgeon claw, and bludgeon spine. Once The Overseer has departed, the same three pieces can be combined on the Overseer's book it leaves behind.
The components come from placing an unsired — dropped by the Abyssal Sire — into the Font of Consumption. On average it takes 619.4 Sire kills to complete a bludgeon (the median is 552 kills), since each unsired only sometimes yields one of the three pieces. If you would rather not grind the Sire, the finished bludgeon is tradeable on the Grand Exchange, where it sits around 17M. See where it ranks among other melee weapons in the boss gear finder.
Penance special attack
The abyssal bludgeon's special attack, Penance, consumes 50% of special energy and increases the damage dealt by 0.5% for every prayer point the wielder is missing. The fewer prayer points you have left, the harder the special hits — so a player with a fully drained prayer pool gets the biggest bonus.
For example, if your Prayer level gives you a maximum prayer pool and you have spent most of it, each missing point adds 0.5% to the special's damage. This rewards setups where you deliberately run your prayer low, and pairs the bludgeon naturally with Strength training and crush-weak monsters where you would not be relying on prayer anyway.
Is the abyssal bludgeon worth it?
The bludgeon is a strong mid-wealth crush weapon. It has the second highest overall damage of any crush weapon, behind only the inquisitor's mace, which makes it an excellent option against monsters weak to crush such as gargoyles and kalphites. It shares the abyssal whip's fast 4-tick attack speed but with much higher melee bonuses.
For pure Strength training it is rated the fifth best weapon, behind the more expensive Ghrazi rapier, blade of Saeldor, Voidwaker and inquisitor's mace. Its damage per second beats every other non-degradable weapon with an aggressive attack style, so it is a popular choice for mid-wealth players who want a powerful weapon that never needs charging. Like the other abyssal weapons it ignores the Tormented Demon's fire shield. What is the abyssal bludgeon's special attack?
Its special is Penance, which uses 50% special energy. It increases the damage dealt by 0.5% for every prayer point you are missing, so it hits harder the more of your prayer pool you have used up.
How many Abyssal Sire kills for a bludgeon?
On average it takes 619.4 Abyssal Sire kills to complete a bludgeon, with a median of 552 kills. The pieces drop from unsired loot placed in the Font of Consumption, so the count varies a lot from player to player.
Is the abyssal bludgeon good?
