Bandos tassets

“A sturdy pair of tassets.”

Bandos tassets are a leg-slot melee armour piece from the Bandos armour set, requiring 65 Defence to wear. They pair a +2 strength bonus with heavy melee and ranged defence (+71 stab, +93 ranged defence), making them a staple for melee training, Slayer, and bossing. They drop from General Graardor and his bodyguards in the God Wars Dungeon, and trade on the Grand Exchange for roughly 16M. Their strength bonus is among the highest of any legs, though now beaten by Torva platelegs.

Equipment bonuses

Bandos tassets give a +2 strength bonus alongside strong defence — +71 stab, +63 slash, +66 crush and a standout +93 ranged defence — plus a small +1 prayer bonus, all behind a 65 Defence requirement.

As armour rather than a weapon, the tassets have no attack speed; the trade-off is a -21 magic attack penalty, so they hurt accuracy if you cast spells while wearing them.

How to get the Bandos tassets

Bandos tassets are a drop from General Graardor, the Bandos boss in the God Wars Dungeon. Graardor drops the tassets at a rate of 1/381 (the same rate as the other two Bandos armour pieces), which works out to roughly 1/127 for any single Bandos armour piece per kill. His three bodyguards can also drop them, but far more rarely — about 3/16256 each.

Because they are tradeable, you do not have to grind the boss yourself — you can buy them on the Grand Exchange for around 16M, with a buy limit of 8 every 4 hours. To reach Graardor's chamber you need 40 kills of Bandos's followers inside the dungeon (or an Ecumenical key); reaching the God Wars Dungeon itself needs around level 70 in the relevant skills. See the boss gear finder to plan a setup for the kill.

Are Bandos tassets worth it?

For most accounts Bandos tassets are one of the best non-degradable leg slots in the game and a long-term buy you rarely replace. Their +2 strength bonus is among the highest of any legs — tied with the Inquisitor's plateskirt, blood moon tassets and oathplate legs — and is beaten only by Torva platelegs. Combined with heavy ranged defence (+93) they suit melee training, Slayer and a wide range of bosses, all from a low 65 Defence requirement.

If you want the absolute top legs, Torva platelegs edge them out with +2 more strength and noticeably higher melee and ranged defence, but they require 80 Defence, are harder to obtain and cost far more. Cheaper alternatives include dragon platelegs (no strength bonus) and obsidian platelegs (only +1 strength), both with weaker ranged defence, and Verac's plateskirt, which trades the strength bonus for a higher prayer bonus and degrades. The degradable blood moon tassets match the +2 strength while offering the best magic defence of any melee armour. For a full melee loadout, browse our melee gear picks.

Bandos tassets FAQ

What level do you need to wear Bandos tassets?

You need 65 Defence to equip Bandos tassets. There is no other skill requirement to wear them.

How do you get Bandos tassets?

They drop from General Graardor in the God Wars Dungeon at a rate of 1/381 (about 1/127 for any Bandos armour piece), and far more rarely from his bodyguards (~3/16256 each). Since they are tradeable, you can also just buy them on the Grand Exchange.

Are Bandos tassets the best legs in OSRS?

They are among the best non-degradable legs, but not the single best. Their +2 strength bonus is tied for second-highest (with the Inquisitor's plateskirt, blood moon tassets and oathplate legs) and is beaten by Torva platelegs, which also have higher defence but need 80 Defence and cost much more.

How much are Bandos tassets worth?

Bandos tassets trade for roughly 16M on the Grand Exchange. The exact live price and history are shown in the price chart above.

Do Bandos tassets degrade?

No. Bandos tassets are non-degradable, so they never need repairing or recharging — one of the reasons they are a popular long-term melee leg slot.

Bandos tassets or Torva platelegs?

Torva platelegs are stronger — +2 more strength plus 10–15 higher melee and ranged defence — but they require 80 Defence, are harder to obtain and cost far more. Bandos tassets need only 65 Defence and give most of the benefit for a fraction of the price, so for most players they are the better value.

Can you alch Bandos tassets?

Yes — high alchemy gives 174K and low alchemy 116K, but since they trade for around 16M on the Grand Exchange, alching them would be a huge loss. Sell them on the GE instead.
