Eternal boots

“A pair of upgraded infinity boots.”

Eternal boots are an upgraded magic-boot that requires 75 Magic and 75 Defence to wear. They carry +8 Magic attack, +8 Magic defence and a 1% Magic damage bonus, making them one of the best magic boots in the game — second-highest behind the Avernic treads. You make them by combining an eternal crystal (a 1/520 drop from Cerberus) with a pair of infinity boots, a one-way process. They trade on the Grand Exchange for roughly 3.9M.

Equipment bonuses

The eternal boots' defining bonuses are their +8 Magic attack and +8 Magic defence, paired with a 1% Magic damage boost and a tidy +5 across every defensive style. That magic-damage line is what separates them from cheaper alternatives on long mage trips.

To equip them you need 75 Magic and 75 Defence. The magic-damage and magic-attack bonuses make them a clear pick over infinity boots for any serious mage setup — just shy of the Avernic treads at the very top.

How to get the eternal boots

Eternal boots aren't a direct drop — you craft them. You combine an eternal crystal with a pair of infinity boots, and the crystal is the bottleneck.

  • Eternal crystal — a 1/520 drop from Cerberus, the hellhound boss. She also drops the pegasian and primordial crystals at the same rate.
  • Infinity boots — the base boots you upgrade, bought or earned elsewhere.

Combining the two requires level 60 Magic and 60 Runecraft (these levels cannot be boosted) and grants 200 experience in both skills. The upgrade cannot be reversed, and unlike infinity boots the finished eternal boots cannot be stored in a player-owned house. If you'd rather skip the grind, the boots trade freely on the Grand Exchange for around 3.9M. Browse more magic gear to round out the setup.

Are eternal boots worth it?

For most mages, yes. The +8 Magic attack and 1% Magic damage make eternal boots a meaningful step up from infinity boots, and at the feet slot they sit just behind the very top option.

The honest ranking: eternal boots have the second-highest Magic attack and Magic defence of any boots, behind the Avernic treads. The Avernic treads edge them out at the top of magic, ranged and melee feet bonuses, so if you have those and gear for pure magic output they win. But the Avernic treads are far pricier, which keeps eternal boots the practical, value-for-money pick for the vast majority of mage trips. Their 1% magic-damage bonus is the deciding factor on long casts where every percent of extra damage compounds.

Eternal boots FAQ

What level do you need for eternal boots?

You need 75 Magic and 75 Defence to wear eternal boots. Crafting them yourself instead of buying needs 60 Magic and 60 Runecraft (un-boostable).

How do you get eternal boots?

You make them by combining an eternal crystal with a pair of infinity boots. The eternal crystal is a 1/520 drop from Cerberus. Or you can simply buy the finished boots on the Grand Exchange.

Are eternal boots the best magic boots?

No — they're second-best, behind the Avernic treads. Eternal boots have the second-highest Magic attack and Magic defence of any boots, so they're an excellent value choice but not the outright best in slot.

How much are eternal boots worth?

Eternal boots trade for roughly 3.9M on the Grand Exchange. The live price and history are shown above.

What bonuses do eternal boots give?

They provide +8 Magic attack, +8 Magic defence, a 1% Magic damage bonus, and +5 defence against stab, slash, crush and ranged.

Can you reverse eternal boots back into infinity boots?

No. Combining the eternal crystal with infinity boots is a one-way, irreversible process. The eternal boots also can't be stored in a player-owned house.

What boss drops the eternal crystal?

Cerberus, the hellhound boss, drops the eternal crystal at a rate of 1/520. She also drops the pegasian and primordial crystals.
