Soulflame horn

“A horn sculpted in the depths of the earth. Its violent reverbrations fan the flames of the soul.”

The Soulflame horn is a Magic weapon that requires level 80 Magic to wield, dropped rarely by Yama. It is a dedicated support item rather than a damage dealer: its real value is the Entice special attack, which guarantees nearby teammates' next melee hit lands. With a 5-tick (3.0s) attack and modest +21 crush, +23 strength stats, you almost never auto-attack with it. It sells on the Grand Exchange for roughly 4M coins.

Equipment bonuses

The Soulflame horn carries spiked melee stats — +21 crush attack and +23 melee strength — alongside +11 magic defence and a touch of +1 magic damage, but these numbers are almost beside the point. It swings on a 5-tick cycle (3.0 seconds) and needs 80 Magic to equip.

Nobody buys this horn to auto-attack; the stats exist only so it has a melee profile. Its job is to sit in your weapon slot and fire the Entice special between your real spec weapons.

How to get the Soulflame horn

The Soulflame horn is a rare drop from Yama, the Master of Pacts, the boss released alongside this item on 14 May 2025. There are two ways to obtain it:

  • Standard fight (solo): Yama rolls a 1/120 unique-table chance per kill (scaling with contribution); when that hits, there is a 2/5 split toward the horn versus oathplate armour. The wiki's effective solo rate works out to roughly 1/300 (2/600) per kill.
  • Contract of harmony acquisition: defeating Yama under this specific contract gives the Soulflame horn as a guaranteed drop, making it the reliable route once you can clear the fight.

Note that Jagex reduced the horn and oathplate drop rates by about 30% in a 16 May 2025 hotfix, so older rate figures you may see online are no longer accurate.

Entice — the special attack

The horn's special attack, Entice, is what makes it worth owning. It applies a buff to up to 3 other players within a 3-tile radius, costing 25% special-attack energy per affected player. The user is always enticed too, regardless of how many allies are hit and at no extra cost. You can right-click the equipped horn to configure the radius and the maximum number of allies affected.

While enticed, a player's next melee attack within 10 ticks (6 seconds) is a guaranteed successful hit — it cannot miss. This applies to melee special attacks as well. For multi-hit attacks like the Scythe of Vitur or the dragon dagger spec, only the first hitsplat is guaranteed; dragon claws and burning claws instead have their second accuracy check affected.

The horn can only be used when at least one other eligible player is in range. The special has a 4-tick cooldown that is independent of the weapon's attack speed.

Is the Soulflame horn worth it?

For solo or DPS-focused play, no — the Soulflame horn does almost no damage and occupies your weapon slot. It is a group-support tool, and its value is entirely situational.

The classic use is to guarantee a defence-draining special lands. Pairing Entice with a melee weapon like the elder maul means the maul's accuracy is never wasted, so you conserve spec energy for the bigger damage hits after a target's Defence has been crushed. In coordinated group bosses and raids it removes the variance of a missed key spec.

Eligibility matters: inside the Nightmare, Nex, all Raids, the Royal Titans, and Yama, every player — including Ironmen — can receive Entice. Outside those areas, main accounts must have Accept Aid turned on to benefit. If you do not run organised group content, your gold is better spent elsewhere.

Soulflame horn FAQ

What level do you need for the Soulflame horn?

You need level 80 Magic to equip the Soulflame horn. There is no other skill requirement to wield it.

How do you get the Soulflame horn?

It is a rare drop from Yama. In a standard solo kill the effective rate is roughly 2/600 per kill (the unique table is 1/120, scaling with contribution). It is a guaranteed drop when you defeat Yama under a Contract of harmony acquisition.

What is the Soulflame horn's special attack?

Its special is called Entice. It applies to up to 3 other players within 3 tiles, costing 25% energy per affected player, and makes each enticed player's next melee attack a guaranteed hit for 10 ticks (6 seconds). The user is always affected too at no extra cost.

Is the Soulflame horn good?

It is excellent in coordinated group content and useless for solo damage. It does almost no damage itself; it exists to guarantee a teammate's key melee or defence-draining special (such as the elder maul) lands. If you do not run group bosses or raids, it offers little.

How much is the Soulflame horn worth?

It trades on the Grand Exchange for roughly 4 million coins, though the live price moves with demand. Its high alchemy value is 132,000 coins and the buy limit is 5 every 4 hours.

Does the Soulflame horn special work on every attack type?

Entice only guarantees melee hits. For multi-hit attacks it covers just the first hitsplat (for example the Scythe of Vitur or dragon dagger spec); dragon claws and burning claws have their second accuracy check guaranteed instead. The special also has a 4-tick cooldown independent of attack speed.

Can Ironmen use the Soulflame horn's special?

Yes, inside the Nightmare, Nex, all Raids, the Royal Titans, and Yama, all players including Ironmen can receive the Entice effect. Outside those areas, main accounts must have Accept Aid enabled to benefit.

How fast is the Soulflame horn?

It attacks on a 5-tick cycle (3.0 seconds) using the Spiked melee style. In practice you rarely auto-attack with it — it is wielded to fire the Entice special, not to deal damage.
