Amulet of fury

“A very powerful onyx amulet.”

The amulet of fury is one of the most powerful and versatile amulets in Old School RuneScape, made by enchanting an onyx amulet with Lvl-6 Enchant (requires 87 Magic to cast). There's no level requirement to wear it. It carries +10 in every attack and +15 in every defence plus +8 strength and +5 Prayer, making it the default all-round neck slot for melee, ranged, magic and prayer alike. It trades on the Grand Exchange for roughly 2.9M.

Equipment bonuses

The fury's appeal is its balance: it offers +10 to every attack style (stab, slash, crush, magic and ranged) and +15 to every defence style, so it never drags any setup down. On top of that sit +8 melee strength and +5 Prayer bonus.

There is no skill requirement to equip it, which is why a single fury covers nearly every account — but specialist amulets now beat it on individual stats per combat style.

How to get the amulet of fury

The amulet of fury is not a drop — it's player-made. You enchant an onyx amulet using the Lvl-6 Enchant spell, which needs 87 Magic to cast.

  • Spell cost: 1 cosmic rune, 20 fire runes and 20 earth runes per cast (granting 97 Magic experience).
  • The onyx amulet itself is crafted from a cut onyx and a gold bar at a furnace, or bought from other players.

If you can't cast the enchant yourself, the finished amulet is fully tradeable on the Grand Exchange for around 2.9M, so most players simply buy one. The buy limit is 8 every 4 hours. You can browse other neck and melee gear options if you're planning a full loadout.

Is the amulet of fury worth it? Upgrades & comparisons

For most accounts the fury is an easy yes: it's cheap relative to its power, has no requirement to wear, and is strong in every combat style at once. The wiki itself calls it "generally regarded as the most versatile amulet with the best all-around bonuses" — but adds that several amulets surpass it in certain areas. If you only ever do one style, a specialist amulet edges it out:

  • Melee: the amulet of torture and the amulet of rancour both give more melee strength than the fury's +8.
  • Ranged: the necklace of anguish gives ranged strength the fury lacks (its ranged-strength bonus is 0).
  • Magic: the occult necklace adds magic damage, which the fury does not (its magic-damage bonus is 0).
  • Prayer: several prayer-focused amulets give a higher Prayer bonus than the fury's +5.

Because of that, endgame players keep style-specific amulets and use the fury as the do-everything default. For tools to plan a full setup, see magic gear, ranged gear and prayer gear, or check the boss gear finder.

Variants: blood fury and the ornament kit

The base amulet has two well-known variants that don't change its core stats:

  • Amulet of blood fury: made by combining a blood shard with the amulet. It keeps the fury's exact bonuses but adds a passive — a 20% chance to heal you for 30% of the damage you deal, working only while using melee. The blood shard is a consumable charge, so this version wears down with use.
  • Amulet of fury (or): made with a fury ornament kit. This is purely cosmetic and does not change its bonuses.

The price and chart shown on this page are for the plain amulet of fury, which is the tradeable form.

Amulet of fury FAQ

What level do you need for the amulet of fury?

None to wear it — the amulet of fury has no skill requirement to equip. The 87 Magic figure people quote is only needed to make one (to cast Lvl-6 Enchant on an onyx amulet). If you buy it from the Grand Exchange, anyone can wear it.

How do you make an amulet of fury?

You enchant an onyx amulet with the Lvl-6 Enchant spell, which requires 87 Magic. Each cast uses 1 cosmic rune, 20 fire runes and 20 earth runes and gives 97 Magic experience.

Is the amulet of fury still good in 2026?

Yes — it remains the best all-round amulet because it's strong in every combat style at once. Its own wiki page still calls it "the most versatile amulet with the best all-around bonuses." For a single style, though, specialist amulets beat it: the amulet of torture and amulet of rancour for melee strength, the necklace of anguish for ranged, and the occult necklace for magic damage.

How much is an amulet of fury worth?

Around 2.9M on the Grand Exchange (live price and history are shown above). Its high alchemy value is about 121.2K and low alchemy about 80.8K. The buy limit is 8 every 4 hours.

What are the amulet of fury's bonuses?

It gives +10 to every attack style (stab, slash, crush, magic and ranged) and +15 to every defence style, plus +8 melee strength and +5 Prayer. It has no ranged-strength or magic-damage bonus.

Amulet of fury vs amulet of torture — which is better?

It depends on what you're doing. The amulet of torture gives more melee strength than the fury's +8, so it's better for pure melee DPS. The fury is more versatile — it also boosts defence across the board and adds magic, ranged and Prayer bonuses, so it covers every style with one amulet. Many players own both and swap.

What is the amulet of blood fury?

It's a fury upgraded with a blood shard. It has the same stats as a normal fury but adds a passive: a 20% chance to heal you for 30% of the damage you deal, and it only works while using melee. The blood shard acts as a charge that's consumed over time.

Does the fury ornament kit change its stats?

No. The fury ornament kit turns the amulet into the amulet of fury (or), which is purely cosmetic and has the same bonuses as the plain version.
