The archers ring is one of the four Fremennik rings and the classic ranged ring for OSRS. It gives +4 ranged attack and +4 ranged defence with no level requirement to wear, and can be imbued to double those bonuses to +8 / +8. It is dropped only by the Dagannoth Supreme in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon at a rate of 1/128. Once a best-in-slot ranged ring, it now sits second behind the venator ring for ranged accuracy. As a tradeable drop it is cheap on the Grand Exchange, trading around 2M.
Equipment bonuses
The archers ring's defining numbers are +4 ranged attack and +4 ranged defence — modest bonuses that double to +8 ranged attack and +8 ranged defence when the ring is imbued. It carries no melee, magic, strength or prayer bonuses, so it is a pure ranged-accuracy-and-defence ring.

Other bonuses
There is no skill requirement to wear the archers ring (imbued or not); imbuing is done through the Nightmare Zone, Soul Wars or a scroll of imbuing, and turning it into an archer icon for the venator ring needs 80 Crafting (boostable) after Desert Treasure II.

How to get the archers ring
The archers ring is a drop from the Dagannoth Supreme, the Ranged-based Dagannoth King found in the depths of the Waterbirth Island Dungeon. Supreme is the only monster that drops it, at a rate of 1/128 per kill.
- You reach the Dagannoth Kings through the Waterbirth Island Dungeon; many players use a small team or a bursting/ranged setup to farm Supreme specifically for this ring and the seercull.
- Because the ring is tradeable, you do not have to farm it yourself — it is one of the cheaper unique drops and can simply be bought on the Grand Exchange.
To get the most out of it, imbue it: 650,000 Nightmare Zone reward points (or 325,000 with the hard tier of Combat Achievements), 260 Soul Wars Zeal Tokens, or a scroll of imbuing bought for 200 Emir's Arena reward points. Imbuing doubles its bonuses to +8 ranged attack and +8 ranged defence.
Is the archers ring worth it?
For most of OSRS's history the imbued archers ring was the best-in-slot ranged ring, and it is still a strong, cheap choice for any ranged setup. At +8 ranged attack and +8 ranged defence imbued, it gives accuracy with no level requirement to wear and costs a fraction of the newer endgame rings.
It is, however, no longer the highest. The venator ring from Desert Treasure II now has the highest ranged attack bonus of any ring — its own wiki lede says it surpasses the imbued archers ring by +2 — and it is the only ring to add ranged strength. So the archers ring (i) now sits second behind the venator ring for ranged accuracy. For players who cannot afford or have not unlocked the venator ring, the imbued archers ring remains the obvious budget pick. You can plan a full ranged loadout with the Boss Gear Finder.
Imbuing and the venator ring upgrade
Imbuing the archers ring doubles its stats from +4/+4 to +8 ranged attack and +8 ranged defence. The imbued version (archers ring (i)) is a separate item; if you die to another player in the Wilderness without protecting it, it reverts to the normal ring but you are reimbursed the points or scroll to re-imbue it. Dying to a monster never removes the imbue.
After completing Desert Treasure II, the archers ring also becomes a crafting ingredient. Using a chisel on it (with 80 Crafting, boostable) creates an archer icon, which is part of the recipe for the venator ring — the modern ancient ring that out-ranges it. This is the main reason the old archers ring still has demand even now that it has been dethroned.
Archers ring FAQ
What is the archers ring in OSRS?
It is one of the four Fremennik rings, dropped by the Dagannoth Supreme. It gives +4 ranged attack and +4 ranged defence, doubling to +8 / +8 when imbued. For years it was the best ranged ring in the game.
How do you get the archers ring?
It is a drop from the Dagannoth Supreme in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon at a rate of 1/128 — Supreme is the only monster that drops it. Because it is tradeable, you can also just buy it on the Grand Exchange.
What level do you need for the archers ring?
There is no level requirement to wear the archers ring, imbued or not. Imbuing it does not require a level either — it costs reward points or a scroll. Turning it into an archer icon for the venator ring needs 80 Crafting (boostable) after Desert Treasure II.
What does imbuing the archers ring do?
Imbuing doubles its bonuses from +4 ranged attack and +4 ranged defence to +8 ranged attack and +8 ranged defence. You can imbue it for 650,000 Nightmare Zone points (325,000 with the hard tier of Combat Achievements), 260 Soul Wars Zeal Tokens, or a scroll of imbuing from Emir's Arena.
Is the archers ring still best in slot?
No. The imbued archers ring was best-in-slot for a long time, but the venator ring from Desert Treasure II now has the highest ranged attack bonus of any ring (its wiki lede says it beats the imbued archers ring by +2) and is the only ring with ranged strength. The archers ring (i) is now the second-best, budget ranged ring.
Does the archers ring have a special attack?
No. The archers ring is a passive equipment piece with no special attack — it simply provides its ranged attack and ranged defence bonuses while worn.
What is the archers ring drop rate?
The Dagannoth Supreme drops it at 1/128 per kill. Supreme is the only Dagannoth King — and the only monster in the game — that drops the archers ring.
How much is the archers ring worth?
It is one of the cheaper unique drops, trading around 2M on the Grand Exchange (its alch values are only 6K high / 4K low). Check the live price and history in the chart above or on the GE price tracker.
