The abyssal dagger is the most powerful dagger in the game, a fast 4-tick (2.4s) stab weapon needing 70 Attack to wield. With +75 stab and +75 Strength it sits at the top of the dagger tier, though the Zamorakian hasta edges it on stab accuracy. It's obtained from the Abyssal Sire (via unsired, ~1/492 per kill) or rarely from abyssal demons (1/32,000), and trades for roughly 1.6M on the Grand Exchange.
Equipment bonuses
The abyssal dagger brings +75 stab accuracy and +75 melee Strength, the highest of any dagger, swinging once every 4 ticks (2.4 seconds). It also carries a small +40 slash and +1 magic attack, with only a token +1 magic defence and no Prayer bonus.

Other bonuses
At 70 Attack it gives fast, high-Strength stab DPS, making it the go-to dagger for low-defence targets and a popular budget special-attack weapon.

How to get the abyssal dagger
The abyssal dagger is a reward from the Abyssal Sire. The Sire drops an unsired, which you redeem at the Font of Consumption in the Abyssal Nexus. Each unsired has a 13/64 (~20.3%) chance to return an abyssal dagger, working out to roughly 1/492 (~0.20%) per Abyssal Sire kill.
It can also drop directly from regular abyssal demons at a rate of 1/32,000 (~0.003%) — a notoriously rare drop, but a reason any Slayer task on abyssal demons is worth pushing. You can plan that task with our OSRS Slayer guide.
Special attack — Abyssal Puncture
The abyssal dagger's special attack, Abyssal Puncture, consumes 25% special attack energy and hits twice in quick succession with a 25% accuracy boost and 15% reduced damage. A single accuracy roll is performed against the target's slash defence, so either both hits land or both miss.
It can hit up to 44-44 against players, or 50-50 with a salve amulet (e) against undead. The spec is weaker than the dragon dagger's hits but more accurate against high-defence monsters, making it a cheaper, more reliable special-attack opener. See where it fits in the wider melee gear setup.
Abyssal dagger FAQ
What level do you need for the abyssal dagger?
You need 70 Attack to wield the abyssal dagger. There are no other requirements.
How do you get the abyssal dagger?
It comes from the Abyssal Sire via the unsired reward (13/64 per unsired, about 1/492 per kill), or rarely as a direct drop from abyssal demons at 1/32,000.
What is the abyssal dagger's special attack?
Abyssal Puncture uses 25% special energy and hits twice with a 25% accuracy boost and 15% reduced damage, rolling once against slash defence so both hits land or both miss. Max hit is 44-44 (50-50 with a salve amulet (e) on undead).
Is the abyssal dagger better than the dragon dagger?
The abyssal dagger is the most powerful dagger for stats and is more accurate against high-defence monsters, but its spec max hit (44-44) is lower than the dragon dagger's (50-50). The dragon dagger remains the bigger burst spec; the abyssal dagger trades raw hits for accuracy and stronger sustained DPS.
How much is the abyssal dagger worth?
The abyssal dagger trades for around 1.6M on the Grand Exchange. Check the live chart above or our GE price tracker for the current price.
Is the abyssal dagger worth it?
Yes for low-defence targets and as a budget spec weapon — it's the strongest dagger and swings fast at 4 ticks. For pure stab accuracy the Zamorakian hasta is slightly ahead, and the abyssal whip is a common slash alternative for general training.
