Ghrazi rapier

“A razor sharp rapier, smeared with vampyric blood.”

The Ghrazi rapier is a one-handed stab weapon requiring 80 Attack to wield, obtained as a rare drop from the Theatre of Blood. It swings on a 4-tick (2.4s) cycle and carries +94 stab with +89 strength — the best stab-and-strength combo of any weapon at its speed, making it a top-tier general-purpose melee weapon. It has no special attack and trades around 30M on the Grand Exchange.

Equipment bonuses

The Ghrazi rapier's defining numbers are +94 stab attack and +89 melee strength, paired with a fast 4-tick attack speed (2.4 seconds per hit). That combination gives it the highest stab and strength bonuses of any weapon for its speed, which is what puts it at the front of the general-purpose melee meta.

At only 80 Attack to wield, those bonuses make the rapier one of the most accessible top-end melee weapons in the game — no slash or crush bonus to speak of, but its stab style and high strength carry it.

How to get the Ghrazi rapier

The Ghrazi rapier is a unique reward from the Theatre of Blood. It cannot be bought from a shop or made — it only drops from the raid's reward chest, and because it is tradeable most players simply buy it off the Grand Exchange for around 30M rather than grinding it themselves.

  • Source: Theatre of Blood reward chest, alongside the Scythe of vitur, Sanguinesti staff, Justiciar armour and the Avernic defender hilt.
  • Unique chance: a completed normal-mode raid has roughly an 11% chance to roll a unique reward, which is then split across that shared loot table; hard mode raises the unique chance to about 13% and adjusts the weighting.
  • Entry mode: story/entry-mode raids cannot roll uniques at all, so the rapier can only come from normal or hard mode.

If a unique is rolled the chest emits a purple aura; otherwise it pays out three common-table rolls instead.

Is the Ghrazi rapier worth it?

For most players building toward end-game melee, yes. The rapier ties with the Blade of saeldor and Inquisitor's mace for the highest general-use melee damage output, and it only needs 80 Attack — lower than several of its rivals. It is the standard stab weapon for content where you want fast, accurate hits and don't need a special attack.

Where it falls behind:

  • High-defence targets: Osmumten's fang outperforms the rapier against monsters with very high defence, thanks to the fang's accuracy mechanic.
  • Large monsters: the Scythe of vitur hits multiple times on big targets and pulls ahead there.
  • Spec weapons: the rapier has no special attack, so it doesn't replace a dedicated spec weapon — it's a main-hand DPS weapon, paired with something like a dragon defender in the shield slot.

Against most single-target, lower-defence content, though, the rapier is hard to beat for the level requirement, which is why it stays a long-term staple rather than a stepping stone.

Stats, style and the holy kit

The rapier uses the Stab Sword combat style on a 4-tick (2.4-second) cycle, with a unique stabbing animation added after launch following player feedback. Its accuracy bonus is concentrated in stab (+94), with a much smaller slash bonus (+55) and no crush, so you'll keep it on a stab attack style for almost all content.

It can be combined with a holy ornament kit to create the holy Ghrazi rapier, a Saradomin-themed cosmetic. This does not change any stats, but it makes the weapon count as a Saradomin item in the God Wars Dungeon, letting you skip aggression from Saradomin followers there. The ornament version is cosmetic only and is reversible.

Ghrazi rapier FAQ

What level do you need for the Ghrazi rapier?

You need 80 Attack to wield it. It originally required 75 Attack, but the requirement was raised to 80 in the 11 May 2022 Equipment Rebalance.

How do you get the Ghrazi rapier?

It's a rare unique drop from the Theatre of Blood reward chest. A normal-mode raid has about an 11% chance to roll a unique, shared across the rapier, scythe, sanguinesti staff, justiciar armour and avernic defender hilt. Because it's tradeable, most players just buy it on the Grand Exchange.

Is the Ghrazi rapier still good?

Yes. It ties with the Blade of saeldor and Inquisitor's mace for the highest general-use melee damage, with the lowest Attack requirement of the three (80). It's still a long-term melee staple, though Osmumten's fang beats it on high-defence monsters and the Scythe of vitur wins on large ones.

Does the Ghrazi rapier have a special attack?

No. The Ghrazi rapier has no special attack. It's a pure DPS weapon — you'd carry a separate spec weapon if you need one.

How much is the Ghrazi rapier worth?

It trades for roughly 30M on the Grand Exchange, though the price moves with supply from raids. Check the live price and history on the GE price tracker above.

What's the Ghrazi rapier's attack speed?

It attacks on a 4-tick cycle, or 2.4 seconds per hit — the same speed as an abyssal whip. Its +94 stab and +89 strength make it the best weapon of that speed for stab-and-strength output.

Ghrazi rapier or Blade of saeldor?

They're effectively tied for general-use melee damage. The rapier is a stab weapon (80 Attack), while the Blade of saeldor is a slash weapon (75 Attack) that needs charging with crystal shards. Pick based on whether the target is weakest to stab or slash, and on which you already own.

What is the holy Ghrazi rapier?

It's a cosmetic version made by combining the rapier with a holy ornament kit. The stats are identical, but it counts as a Saradomin item in the God Wars Dungeon, so Saradomin followers won't attack you there. The kit is reversible.
