The crystal bow is a two-handed elven bow that requires the Roving Elves quest, 70 Ranged and 50 Agility to wield. Blessed by Seren, it generates its own arrows — you never need ammunition — and gets a damage and accuracy boost when crystal armour is worn. It is the penultimate bow in the composite-bow family, just below the bow of Faerdhinen.
Equipment bonuses
The crystal bow has +100 Ranged attack and +78 Ranged strength, and because it makes its own arrows there's no ammo cost. It fires every 4 ticks on rapid with a 10-square range — sitting between a shortbow (3 ticks) and a crossbow (5 ticks) for speed.
Requires Roving Elves, 70 Ranged and 50 Agility · two-handed · attack speed 5 (4 on rapid) · needs no arrows.
How the crystal bow works
The crystal bow needs no arrows — it conjures its own when fired, so your only running cost is recharging it. It degrades with use; when it runs low you revert it back to a crystal weapon seed and have it re-sung into a fresh bow. Wearing crystal armour raises its accuracy and damage, so the bow and armour are usually used together. See its output in the OSRS DPS calculator.
How to get the crystal bow
You need a crystal weapon seed — a drop from elite-clue caskets, the Gauntlet and elf-related content — which an elf such as Ilfeen sings into a crystal bow for a fee. With Prifddinas access you can also use the singing bowl yourself with crystal shards. The bow is untradeable, so it must be made, not bought.
