Dragon plateskirt

The Dragon plateskirt is the skirt version of the dragon platelegs. It needs 60 Defence to wear and has the same stats. You cannot smith it, so it comes from drops and chests. It gives strong melee and ranged defence but no strength bonus. It suits melee setups at 60 Defence, before moving up to Bandos or Torva legs.

This is a defence piece. It gives +68 stab, +66 slash and +63 crush defence, with +65 ranged defence. It carries −21 magic attack, −11 ranged attack and −4 magic defence, and no strength or Prayer bonus.

How to get the Dragon plateskirt

There is no crafting route, so every skirt comes from a drop or a trade.

Ways to obtain it
Grand Exchange — tradeable, with a buy limit of 70 every 4 hours.
Monster drops — sources include the Chaos Elemental, adamant dragons, rune dragons, brutal black dragons and Skeletal Wyverns, and revenants in the Revenant Caves.
Boss and chest drops — Vorkath, Yama and the Elven Crystal Chest also appear in the drop sources.

Exact rates depend on the source. Examples are 1/110 for adamant dragons, 1/127 for rune dragons and 2/128 for the Chaos Elemental.

Using the Dragon plateskirt

This is a defence-first leg slot for a melee or ranged setup at 60 Defence. It has no strength bonus, so it protects you rather than raising your hits.

The same stats exist on the dragon platelegs, so use whichever you have. If you want a gold-trimmed version, use the legs/skirt ornament kit on it. It is used for Slayer trolls, demonic gorillas and the Mimic.

Is the Dragon plateskirt worth it?

It is a solid step between rune legs and the Bandos tassets. You get a clear defence jump over rune legs at 60 Defence.

Once you can wear 65 Defence gear, the Bandos tassets are the usual upgrade. They add a +2 strength bonus and far better ranged defence, and the Torva platelegs have more defence and strength again, at 80 Defence. If you only need defence and do not mind giving up strength, the skirt stays useful.

Yes. It has the same stats as the Dragon platelegs, so the choice is mostly about the look and which one you can find.
Can you smith a Dragon plateskirt?
No. As with most dragon armour, you cannot make it with Smithing. It only comes from drops.
How do you get a Dragon plateskirt?

Dragon plateskirt or Bandos tassets?
The Bandos tassets give +2 strength, a +1 Prayer bonus and +93 ranged defence against the skirt's +65, but they need 65 Defence. The skirt has a slightly higher slash defence and needs less Defence, but no strength bonus.
Dragon plateskirt or Rune platelegs?
The skirt is better in every melee and ranged defence number, and the magic defence is the same. The Rune platelegs give +51 / +49 / +47 melee defence and +49 ranged defence at 40 Defence, so the skirt is the step up once you reach 60.
Can you add a gold trim to the Dragon plateskirt?
Yes. Combine it with a dragon legs/skirt ornament kit to make the Dragon plateskirt (g). The kit changes only the look, not the stats. A Bounty hunter ornament kit makes the (cr) version.
Is the Dragon plateskirt good against magic?
