The Witchwood icon is a cheap piece of Slayer equipment worn in the neck slot. It weakens the scream of the cave horrors in the Mos Le'Harmless Cave, so the scream no longer hits every time. It needs 35 Slayer and costs 900 coins from any Slayer Master. Players who use Protect from Melee there can skip it.

The stats are almost nothing: +1 magic attack and +1 Prayer. Nobody wears it for its bonuses. Its only value is what it does against cave horrors.

How to get the Witchwood icon
There is no drop or quest to complete. It is a shop item.
It is untradeable, so you buy it from a Slayer Master and not on the Grand Exchange.
What the Witchwood icon does
Cave horrors have a scream that always hits for 10% of your Hitpoints when you do not wear the icon. With the icon on, the scream is rolled like a normal attack, so it can miss and your defence counts. It reduces the damage. It does not block it fully.
Protect from Melee blocks the scream completely, so many players pray and wear a stronger necklace instead. If you safespot cave horrors or might run out of Prayer points, keep the icon with you.
