The money-no-object route is butler-fed planks: Oak larders at 33, Mahogany tables at 52, then Gnome benches at 77 for around 1.1M XP/hr to 99. If you'd rather not burn the bank, Mahogany Homes contracts are far cheaper and nearly AFK (~280k XP/hr at Expert), which makes them the ironman and budget favourite. How much gold does 99 Construction cost in OSRS?
It's the priciest 99 in the game. Going from 1 to 99 with the fast plank methods (oak larders → mahogany tables → gnome benches) runs into the tens of millions and often well over 100M gp, since you buy millions of planks — the calculator above shows the live gp cost at today's GE prices. Mahogany Homes contracts cut that cost sharply in exchange for a slower rate.
What's the fastest XP/hr for Construction?
Gnome benches at level 77 are the fastest mainstream method at around 1.1M XP/hr — among the highest rates in the game — but they need a steady supply of mahogany planks and a butler. Before 77, mahogany tables (level 52) are the quickest.
Can you train Construction AFK?
Mahogany Homes contracts are the closest thing to AFK Construction — you walk between houses and repair furniture instead of spam-clicking a butler. They're slower (~200k–280k XP/hr) but cheap and far less click-intensive, which is why ironmen and casual players prefer them.
