“A mysterious artifact of ancient times, emblem traders will pay you extremely handsomely for this.”
The Ancient relic is a rare drop from revenants in the Revenant Caves. You can hand it to the Emblem Trader for 16,000,000 coins, or use a chisel on it to break it into 32,000 revenant ether. It is always lost on death, so getting it out of the caves safely matters.

What you can do with an Ancient relic
The relic has two uses.
Uses
Sell to the Emblem Trader — he wanders the Revenant Caves and pays 16,000,000 coins. You must do this on the official Bounty Hunter world. He will not take it in Edgeville.
Break it with a chisel — a chisel on the relic gives 32,000 revenant ether. Revenant ether charges the Wilderness weapons and the bracelet of ethereum. This option was added on 9 July 2025.
The relic is also tradeable. Compare what players pay for it on the Grand Exchange with the Emblem Trader payout, and decide which is better for you.
How to get an Ancient relic
The relic is a drop from revenants and from Bounty Hunter crates. The revenant drop becomes more common when you are skulled. A skull from a high-risk PvP world does not count.
Drop sources
Revenant dragon, Revenant knight and Revenant maledictus — 1/8,000 and 1/4,400.
Revenant dark beast, Revenant ork — 1/8,800 and 1/4,840.
Revenant hellhound, Revenant demon, Revenant cyclops — 1/9,760 and 1/5,368.
Lower-level revenants — rarer. Examples are Revenant pyrefiend at 1/12,560 and 1/6,908, and Revenant imp at 1/44,000 and 1/24,200.
Bounty crates, tiers 1 to 9 — 2/1,000 each.
Each revenant has two rates. The smaller denominator is the skulled rate.
The Ancient relic and death
Like the bracelet of ethereum, the relic is always lost on death, even if it is the only item in your inventory. Since 1 March 2018 it also always drops on death.
That makes the way out of the caves as important as the drop. Selling to the Emblem Trader in the caves ends the risk at once. To follow the price of other rare drops, see the GE price tracker or browse all items.
