How to get the Saradomin sword
The Saradomin sword is a drop from Commander Zilyana, the Saradominist general of the God Wars Dungeon. Her unique drop table gives the sword at a rate of 1/127, and her three bodyguards can also drop it as a much rarer 3/5376 shared drop.
Since it is fully tradeable, the simplest route is just to buy it on the Grand Exchange — check the live price and history chart above. If you'd rather farm it yourself, you'll need the requirements to enter the Saradomin section of the dungeon and the gear to kill Zilyana repeatedly.
Saradomin's Lightning special attack
The Saradomin sword's special attack, Saradomin's Lightning, consumes 100% special energy. It deals 10% more melee damage and adds 1-16 extra Magic damage on top of the hit.
The special rolls against the opponent's slash Defence using your current attack stance's bonus. If the melee hit misses, the Magic portion fails too. You earn 2 Magic experience for every point of extra Magic damage dealt. Note the Magic hit always splashes against players using Protect from Magic, and always hits 0 on the cyclopes in the Warriors' Guild.
