The crystal halberd (often "chally") is a degradable two-handed polearm that requires the Hard Western Provinces Diary, 70 Attack, 35 Strength and 50 Agility. Notably stronger than a dragon halberd, it is prized for its special attack, which can hit large monsters twice or strike a whole group at once.
Equipment bonuses
The crystal halberd has +110 slash attack and a large +118 strength bonus. Like all halberds it reaches two squares away, and it can deal full damage to the Corporeal Beast on the stab style — but its main use is its special attack rather than sustained DPS.
Requires the Hard Western Provinces Diary, 70 Attack, 35 Strength and 50 Agility · two-handed polearm · attack speed 7 · reaches 2 squares.
Special attack — Sweep
Sweep (shared with the dragon halberd) costs 30% special energy and adds 10% damage. Against "large" monsters it lands a second hit (at reduced accuracy), and in multi-combat it can strike up to 10 enemies in a line. Its single-target DPS is beaten by the dragon dagger and dragon claws specials, so the halberd is mostly used for last-hitting, AoE, and forced-downtime spots like Zulrah's dive or the Pestilent Bloat. Compare it in the OSRS DPS calculator.
How to get the crystal halberd
You need a crystal weapon seed, then either buy a charged halberd from Islwyn for 750,000 coins, have Ilfeen sing your seed into one (starting at 750,000 coins and dropping to 150,000 with repeats), or use the singing bowl in Prifddinas with 78 Crafting and Smithing and 40 crystal shards. It is untradeable and degrades as you use it.
