Grand Exchange price history
The Blue wizard robe is the entry-level magic body in the game. It is free-to-play, needs no level to wear, and gives +3 magic attack and +3 magic defence. It is for brand-new mages and free-to-play accounts. Members accounts have a large step up in the Mystic robe top.
Equipment bonuses
Two numbers matter here: +3 magic attack and +3 magic defence. Every other bonus is zero, including prayer, so it adds no penalty either.
No level requirement · body slot · free-to-play. Its only bonuses are the +3 magic attack and +3 magic defence shown above.
How to get a Blue wizard robe
It is cheap, tradeable, and has three routes in.
Both the easy and the medium emote clue tiers can ask you to wear one.
Blue wizard robe vs other magic bodies
The blue robe and the Black robe have the same stats. Among the free-to-play bodies, only these two (and their ornamental versions) and the Zamorak monk top carry a magic attack bonus. The monk top has +2 magic attack, +3 magic defence and +3 prayer, while the blue robe has +3 and +3 and no prayer.
Members move on to the Mystic robe top, which has +20 magic attack and +20 magic defence.
Is the Blue wizard robe worth it?
For a new free-to-play mage, yes. It costs very little, needs no stats, and it is a standard pick for free-to-play magic training and Ironman accounts.
It is a stopgap. Once you have members and a bit of gold, a Mystic robe top is a far bigger step. Check the magic gear page before you decide.
