It's tradeable and noteable, with a Grand Exchange buy limit of 50 every four hours — raised from 5 in a 29 May 2025 update — so players can also buy one on the Grand Exchange instead of relying on a drop.
What changes when you use the contract
Signing the contract of oathplate acquisition and starting the fight against Yama applies several changes on top of a normal encounter:
- Hitpoints and prayer restoration are halved.
- Shadow Waves and Fire Streaks appear more frequently.
- Shadow Crash is used throughout the entire fight, and its centre fireball leaves behind a shadow pool for the rest of the fight — if the pool would land on a glyph, it spawns on a random nearby tile instead.
- Shadow Crash drops five sets of fireballs instead of three.
- Four void flares spawn at a time instead of two.
- The Judge of Yama throws fire bombs every 3 ticks, two per attack.
The fight must be completed alone, and the contract is consumed the instant it starts. When the fight begins, the player chooses which piece of oathplate armour they'll receive as their guaranteed reward.
