The Justiciar chestguard is the body piece of the Justiciar set, with defence bonuses of +132 stab, +130 slash, +117 crush and +142 ranged. It needs 75 Defence and comes from the Theatre of Blood. It is built for taking hits, not dealing them, so it has no strength bonus and carries a heavy magic attack penalty.
Equipment bonuses
Defence is the whole point. The body gives +132 stab, +130 slash, +117 crush and +142 ranged, and +4 Prayer. The trade is steep: −40 magic attack, −20 ranged attack and −16 magic defence. There is no strength bonus on this piece.
Requires 75 Defence to wear · body slot · members. Its standout numbers are the +142 ranged defence and the +132 / +130 / +117 melee defences shown above.

How to get the Justiciar chestguard
The chestguard is only ever created as a raid drop. It does not have a crafting or shop route.
Like the other Justiciar pieces, it can be placed in a player-owned house armour case as part of the Justiciar set.
Where the Justiciar chestguard is used
This is the body slot for tanking melee. It is used for K'ril Tsutsaroth (melee tank), General Graardor (advanced tank), Vorkath, Vardorvis, Abyssal Sire and a number of Slayer tasks such as gargoyles and Fossil Island wyverns.
The set effect uses the defence bonus you wear, and the chestguard supplies a large part of it.
Be aware of what you give up. The chestguard has no strength, a −40 magic attack penalty and negative magic defence, so it is a poor pick when ranged or magic accuracy is what matters. Tank setups such as the Dagannoth Kings still use it and accept the lower accuracy. For a full mage or ranged setup, look at magic gear and ranged gear.
Justiciar chestguard compared with Bandos and Torva
The decision is damage against safety. The Bandos chestplate gives +4 strength with +98 stab and +133 ranged defence at 65 Defence. The Torva platebody gives +6 strength and +142 ranged defence at 80 Defence. The chestguard gives +132 stab, +142 ranged defence and +4 Prayer, but zero strength.
If you will wear all three Justiciar pieces, the chestguard is the right body because the set effect depends on it. If you will not, the Torva platebody gives you the same ranged defence plus strength for any damage-focused fight.
