How to get the Torva platebody

The Torva platebody isn't obtained directly — it starts as a damaged Torva platebody, dropped by Nex at an effective rate of 1/258 per kill.

To restore it, combine the damaged platebody with two Bandosian components using a hammer at an anvil, requiring level 90 Smithing. Bandosian components are made by breaking down a Bandos chestplate (3 components) or Bandos tassets (2 components) at the Ancient Forge. The restoration process takes 13 game ticks, temporarily drains the player's Strength and Prayer levels, and is not reversible once completed.

Zarosian protection and armour mechanics

As a Zarosian-aligned item, wearing Torva armour grants Zarosian protection within the God Wars Dungeon.

The wiki's Historical section lists armour degradation as a feature of the original RuneScape 2 version of Torva armour, one of several differences from the current Old School RuneScape release — in RuneScape 2 it degraded over 15 hours of combat and required a coin repair cost once fully degraded.

Is the Torva platebody worth it?

Torva platebody holds the highest strength bonus of any body slot armour in Old School RuneScape at +6 Strength — two points higher than the Bandos chestplate, fighter torso, Inquisitor's hauberk, oathplate chest, and blood moon chestplate, according to the wiki.

Paired with its heavy melee defence bonuses, it's a top pick for melee gear setups at high-level PvM. See the live Grand Exchange price & history chart above for its current price.
