OSRS Max Hit Calculator
Set your gear, levels, prayer and potion to see your max hit for melee, ranged and magic, and your weapon's spec max. Target effects such as a slayer task or salve amulet only count once you set them or pick a monster.

Max hit FAQ
How is max hit calculated in OSRS?
Effective Strength = your Strength level plus any potion boost, times your prayer bonus (rounded down), +3 on Aggressive or +1 on Controlled, +8, then ×1.1 with a full melee void set (rounded down).
Max hit = 0.5 + Effective Strength × (Strength bonus + 64) ÷ 640, rounded down. Bonuses such as a slayer helmet or salve amulet then multiply it, rounding down after each one.
Ranged uses the same steps with your Ranged level and ranged strength; Accurate adds the +3. Magic starts from the spell's or staff's own max hit instead.
Does it show my special attack max hit?
Yes. With a special attack weapon equipped, the page shows its spec max beside the three styles, with the special energy it costs.
If a weapon's special attack deals no damage, or is not modelled yet, the page says so instead of showing a number.
Do the slayer helmet and salve amulet stack?
No. Against an undead monster on your Slayer task, only one counts. This page applies the salve amulet (if it works for your style) and leaves the slayer helmet bonus out.
The plain and (e) salve amulets work for melee only; the (i) and (ei) work for all three styles. Both effects start unset here: set Undead and On Slayer task, or pick a monster.
Why does my twisted bow max hit show a range?
The twisted bow hits harder against targets with more Magic. It uses the higher of the target's Magic level and magic attack bonus, up to 250, or 350 in the Chambers of Xeric.
Until you set Target Magic or pick a monster, the page shows the lowest and highest max hit it could be.
Does my Magic level raise my magic max hit?
For most spells, no: the spell sets the max hit. The exceptions are Magic Dart and the standard elemental spells, which hit as hard as the strongest spell of their kind you can cast. Wind Surge, for example, hits 21 at 81 Magic and 24 at 95.
Powered staves, such as the trident and Tumeken's shadow, do scale with your Magic level, so a magic potion raises their max hit.
Why is my max hit different on the DPS calculator?
Both pages use the same engine, so the same gear, levels and monster give the same max hit. The difference is the target: the DPS calculator always has one, while here slayer task, salve, demonbane, dragonbane and similar effects stay off until you set them or pick a monster.
Use Open in DPS calculator to carry your setup across.
