Warrior ring

“A legendary ring once worn by Fremennik warriors.”

The warrior ring is one of the four Fremennik rings and the melee-focused option, giving +4 slash attack and +4 slash defence with no level requirement to wear. It's dropped by Dagannoth Rex in the Waterbirth Island dungeon, and can be imbued at Nightmare Zone, Soul Wars or Emir's Arena to double those bonuses. It's a cheap, steady melee ring rather than an endgame piece — expect to pay a modest few tens of thousands of coins on the Grand Exchange.

Equipment bonuses

The warrior ring's whole identity is its slash lean: +4 slash attack and +4 slash defence, and nothing else. There's no level requirement, so any melee account can equip it.

Imbuing the ring (Warrior ring (i)) doubles every bonus to +8 slash attack and +8 slash defence, which is what made it a long-standing budget melee ring before the ancient rings arrived.

How to get the warrior ring

The warrior ring is a guaranteed-to-exist drop from Dagannoth Rex, the melee Dagannoth King found in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon. It's one of the four Fremennik rings, alongside the seers, archer and berserker rings, each dropped by its matching King.

Because it's freely tradeable, the fastest route is simply buying it off the Grand Exchange rather than camping the boss — it's an inexpensive ring. If you prefer to farm it, bring melee gear and a way to deal with the other Dagannoth Kings, since Rex shares its lair with them.

Is the warrior ring worth it? Imbuing & upgrades

For a melee account that wants a ring with actual combat stats, the warrior ring is one of the cheapest entry points. The real value comes from imbuing it into the Warrior ring (i), which doubles its bonuses to +8 slash attack and +8 slash defence. You can imbue it at the Nightmare Zone for 650,000 reward points (or 325,000 with the hard tier of Combat Achievements), at Soul Wars for 260 Zeal Tokens, or with a Scroll of Imbuing bought for 200 Emir's Arena points.

It is no longer the best melee ring, though. The bellator ring — an ancient ring crafted partly from a warrior icon made from this ring — has the highest slash attack bonus of any ring, beating the imbued warrior ring by +12. Players chasing the absolute best slash setup use the bellator ring; the warrior ring (i) remains the budget choice and a step on the path to building one. See the rest of your loadout on the melee gear page or plan a full setup with the boss gear finder.

Warrior ring FAQ

How do you get the warrior ring in OSRS?

It's a drop from Dagannoth Rex in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon. Since it's tradeable, most players just buy it on the Grand Exchange instead of farming the boss.

What level do you need to wear the warrior ring?

None. The warrior ring has no level requirement, so any account can equip it for its +4 slash attack and +4 slash defence.

How do you imbue the warrior ring?

Imbuing turns it into the Warrior ring (i) and doubles its bonuses to +8 slash attack and +8 slash defence. You can imbue at the Nightmare Zone for 650,000 reward points (325,000 with the hard tier of Combat Achievements), at Soul Wars for 260 Zeal Tokens, or with a Scroll of Imbuing costing 200 Emir's Arena reward points.

Is the warrior ring still the best melee ring?

No. The bellator ring now has the highest slash attack bonus of any ring, surpassing the imbued warrior ring by +12. The warrior ring (i) is now the budget melee option rather than best in slot — though a warrior ring is still used as a crafting component on the way to a bellator ring.

What are the warrior ring's bonuses?

+4 slash attack and +4 slash defence, with nothing else. Imbued, those double to +8 each.

How much is the warrior ring worth?

It's an inexpensive ring — only a modest amount of coins. Check the live price and history chart above for the current Grand Exchange value, as it shifts over time.
