Branda the Fire Queen Strategy Guide

Branda the Fire Queen is a giant boss, being one of the Royal Titans, along with Eldric the Ice King. Branda the Fire Queen Guide

Branda the Fire Queen is a giant boss and one half of the Royal Titans, fought alongside Eldric the Ice King in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon. Released on 5 February 2025, she is an entry-level boss designed to teach gear switching, and is recommended for players around the 70-90+ combat-level range. Branda has a combat level of 350 and 600 Hitpoints, attacks with Crush, and carries a 50% elemental weakness to water spells.

There are no quest or item requirements to reach her, so anyone can walk in. The Royal Titans can be fought solo or as a duo, and the encounter rewards three combat styles working together: melee for the bulk of the damage, ranged for when she steps out of reach, and magic to clear hazards. She uniquely drops the mystic vigour prayer scroll and the fire element staff crown, plus the giantsoul amulet teleport. Want a loadout for your stats and budget? Requirements & where to fight

Branda is found in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon, on a five-tile-wide strip of land between the Crandor and Karamja Dungeon and the Ice Dungeon. There are no requirements to access or fight the Royal Titans, and they can be fought in a duo or solo.

After entering the dungeon, run north past the pirates and muggers, then west. Players with 60 Agility can take a tunnel shortcut just west of the dungeon ladder to reach the boss room faster. The fairy ring code AIQ sits south of the dungeon entrance, and a Rimmington house portal is north of it. Once you own the giantsoul amulet she drops, it teleports you directly outside the boss room.

Recommended stats & gear

The Wiki recommends moderate stats across all styles: 70+ Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged and Hitpoints, 75+ Magic (for a max hit of 40 with Fire Wave and Water Wave on the elementals), and 43 Prayer for protection prayers. Levels below 75 Magic will not one-shot the elementals.

This is a melee-led fight with ranged and magic support, so the meta style is a strong melee weapon prioritising Strength bonus, a ranged switch for when she is out of melee distance, and a magic switch hitting at least +70 magic attack bonus (or +39 with the full void mage set) so your spells always land on walls and elementals. The Twinflame staff is highly recommended because its passive effect automatically swaps between fire and water spells. To build the exact loadout for your account, point our Boss Gear Finder at this boss rather than copying a fixed list. For levelling the underlying stats, see our Strength and Magic guides.

Inventory & supplies

Bring a ranged weapon and equipment to hit Branda when she leaves melee range, plus magic gear and an autocast staff reaching the +70 magic attack threshold to destroy walls and one-shot minions. Carry Prayer potions, combat boosts (a super strength, super attack and ranging potion at budget; a super combat potion higher up), and a rune pouch stocked with runes to cast Water Wave / Water Blast and Fire Wave / Fire Blast. The Twinflame staff supplies infinite fire and water runes, making those runes optional if you carry it.

Round it out with food (sharks at budget, dark crabs or anglerfish higher up), an emergency teleport, and a Dramen staff if travelling by fairy ring. Keep your Prayer book in mind for the protection prayers you will lean on during her stomps.

Fight mechanics

Branda uses several attacks across two phases. Knowing which to pray and which to dodge is the whole fight:

  • Stomp - a melee attack hitting the three rows in front of her for up to 26 damage. Block it with Protect from Melee. Only used while in melee distance during phase one.
  • Fire walls - a row of fire forms over four ticks, blocking that row. Standing on a targeted tile deals up to 12 damage but stops the wall forming. Douse fires with Water Blast or greater, which extinguishes the two adjacent tiles too; ice spells also work.
  • Fire elementals - she summons three elementals that attack with melee and, if left alive, self-destruct for 8-10 damage in a 3x3 area. With a +70 magic attack bonus you always land your max hit, and fire/water spells uniquely hit a 3x3 area here. Each elemental killed gives a 1-tick attack-delay reduction, letting you cast faster.
  • Elemental Blast - in phase two she blasts the whole area three times except one safe tile, dealing up to 30 damage per blast. Stand on the safe tile to avoid it.

Her ranged accuracy mechanic is the key trick: despite +700 ranged defence, you get a hidden 500% (6x) ranged-accuracy boost whenever she is out of melee distance, and during the entire Elemental Blast charge and attack. So melee her when she is close, and switch to ranged the moment she retreats.

Strategy & kill rotation

Phase 1: Branda and Eldric start in melee distance at the centre. Run in and strike one with any melee weapon before they distance themselves, which triggers your 6x ranged-accuracy boost. While they are out of reach they conjure walls, and start summoning elementals once one Titan has taken 100 damage. Kill the elementals so their self-destruct damage does not stack up. After roughly 20 seconds they re-enter melee range and stomp. When one Titan drops below 210 (35%) health, the fight moves to phase two.

Phase 2: both Titans move onto the main arena and begin charging Elemental Blast; standing where one will occupy knocks you back for 15-30 damage. They now cycle Elemental Blast, elemental summons and stomp, generally in sync. Keep both Titans as low as possible before finishing one, because killing one Titan leaves the other unchecked by its opposing element, pushing its stomp through prayer for up to 10 damage. When soloing, stagger the two Titans' melee phases so at least one is always in melee range, which keeps your damage up.

Notable drops

Branda's marquee uniques are the mystic vigour prayer scroll (unlocks the Mystic Vigour prayer, a direct upgrade to Mystic Might) and the fire element staff crown, which combines with Eldric's ice element staff crown and a battlestaff to make the twinflame staff. Both roll at 1/75. She also drops the giantsoul amulet at 1/16, a handy teleport to the boss room. The pet, Bran, drops at 1/3000 (halved to 1/1500 if you sacrifice loot). Drop rates and quantities listed assume the Royal Titans are killed by one player. Check live prices on our GE price tracker.

Common mistakes

Ignoring the elementals. They stack and give no clear self-destruct timer, so their 8-10 damage adds up fast; kill them, especially with low-end gear. Not hitting the magic threshold. Below +70 magic attack bonus (or +39 with full void) your spells can splash on walls and minions, wasting ticks. Forgetting to switch styles. Meleeing while she is out of reach throws away your 6x ranged boost; ranging while she is in melee wastes her low melee defence. Finishing one Titan too early. Killing one leaves the survivor's stomp dealing damage through prayer, so keep both low before subduing.

Branda the Fire Queen Guide — FAQ

Do I need a quest or item to fight Branda the Fire Queen?

No. There are no requirements to access or fight the Royal Titans. Anyone can enter the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon and take them on, solo or in a duo.

What is Branda weak to?

She has a 50% elemental weakness to water spells, added in the 25 June 2025 Summer Sweep Up update. In melee she is slightly weaker to crush, though not enough to prioritise a crush weapon over a stronger one. She also takes a hidden 6x ranged-accuracy boost whenever she is out of melee distance.

What stats should I have for the Royal Titans?

The Wiki recommends 70+ in Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged and Hitpoints, 75+ Magic for a 40 max hit on the elementals with Fire Wave and Water Wave, and 43 Prayer for protection prayers.

Why is the twinflame staff recommended here?

The Twinflame staff passively swaps between fire and water spells automatically, which makes clearing the opposing-element walls and elementals far smoother. It also supplies infinite fire and water runes. You combine Branda's fire element staff crown, Eldric's ice element staff crown and a battlestaff to build it.
