The Chugging barrel (disassembled) is the tradeable form of the chugging barrel, a Mastering Mixology reward that lets you drink up to five different potions in one click. You assemble it to use it, and it only works in a bank or next to a bank chest. It saves inventory slots and clicks, but it costs a lot of resin to buy from the shop.
How to get the chugging barrel
The barrel is a rewards-shop item, and the disassembled version is the one that moves between players.
Ways to obtain it
Mixology Rewards — the shop run by Supervisor Lalo at Mastering Mixology in Aldarin sells it for 17,250 Mox resin, 14,000 Aga resin and 18,600 Lye resin. It comes disassembled.
Grand Exchange — the disassembled barrel is tradeable, with a buy limit of 5 every 4 hours.
Assemble it — use the Assemble option. You do not need to have played Mastering Mixology to do this.
Once assembled, the barrel cannot be traded. You can dismantle it at any time, but any potions inside are lost.
Using the chugging barrel
You fill the barrel by using up to five different potions on it, or through the bank loadout interface. It holds up to 100 doses of each potion. Potions and barbarian mixes can be stored, so a Prayer potion fits, but hunter mixes cannot.
You can set up to four loadouts in a bank and change the order the potions are drunk in. Order matters: for example, you can drink Saradomin brews before super restores so your stats boost correctly. Empty vials are not used up.
The barrel works only in a bank or next to a bank chest, and some bank interfaces did not support it until a fix on 12 August 2026. It cannot be stored in Chambers of Xeric storage. A disassembled barrel can go in a looting bag.
Is the chugging barrel worth it?
It is a convenience item. One click drinks a whole set of potions, and it can be used at the Theatre of Blood, Nex and Mastering Mixology banks.
It is not the cheap way to buff. If your only goal is to replace super combat potions, buying them is cheaper than buying the barrel. The barrel pays for itself in time saved, not in coins.
