Emberlight is a demonbane slash sword requiring 77 Attack to wield and the upgraded form of Arclight. It keeps Arclight's huge 70% accuracy and damage bonus against demons, but unlike Arclight it does not degrade, has much higher combat stats, and has a stronger special attack — making it the top demonbane melee weapon for players who fight demons regularly.

Emberlight vs Arclight

Emberlight keeps the same 70% demonbane passive as Arclight but improves on it in three ways: it never degrades (no more ancient shards), it has far higher base stats (+70 slash vs +38), and its special hits demons harder. Special attack — Weaken

Emberlight's Weaken special (50% energy) lowers the target's Strength, Attack and Defence by 5% + 1, or 15% + 1 against demons — a 5% improvement over Arclight. It stacks additively, so two specials on a demon cut those stats by 30% + 2.

How to get Emberlight

Emberlight is forged from Arclight. With a fully charged or infused Arclight, a tormented synapse (a Tormented Demons drop) and a hammer in your inventory, use the synapse on an anvil with 74 Smithing, after reading Duradel's notes (available once you've completed While Guthix Sleeps). It is untradeable but can be reverted to recover the synapse.

12 March 2025The Smithing experience for forging your first Emberlight was raised from 73 to 730.

7 August 2024Emberlight now correctly cuts through Skotizo's altar damage-reduction effect (Poll 82 Changes).

24 July 2024Emberlight can now be used in place of Arclight for a master clue step, and can be forged regardless of which items you combine first.
