Expert mining gloves

“These will help me mine Sandstone, Runite and Amethyst. As well as improve mining for Iron, Silver, Coal, Gold, Mithril, Adamantite.”

Expert mining gloves are the top tier of the Mining Guild glove line. While worn, a rock can survive up to three extra gathers on the common ores, two on mithril and adamantite, and one on runite, amethyst, sandstone and sunstone. You make them from the two lower pairs plus minerals, and you cannot buy them from another player.

Equipment bonuses

The gloves have no combat bonuses. Every attack, defence and other bonus is zero, so you wear them only for the Mining effect.

How to get Expert mining gloves

They cannot be bought or dropped. You craft them through Belona, who runs the Mining Guild Mineral Exchange.

Ways to obtain it
Mining gloves — 40 unidentified minerals from Belona.
Superior mining gloves — 100 unidentified minerals from Belona.
Combine them — talk to Belona with both pairs and pay another 40 minerals. The result is the expert pair.

The Guild needs 60 Mining to enter, even though the lower gloves technically wear at a lower level. Unidentified minerals only come from the members area of the Guild, and they give no Mining experience.

What the gloves do

When you mine a rock with the gloves on, the rock is not used up for a set number of gathers. You keep mining it until it finally depletes. Each tier saves more than the one below:

  • Mining gloves: 1 save on copper, tin, iron, silver, lead, coal and gold.
  • Superior mining gloves: 2 saves on those, and 1 on mithril and adamantite.
  • Expert mining gloves: 3 saves on those, 2 on mithril and adamantite, and 1 on runite, sandstone, sunstone and amethyst.

The expert gloves look like the prospector kit, but they are not part of that set and do not count toward its set bonus.

Are Expert mining gloves worth it?

The whole route costs 180 unidentified minerals, or about 10 to 12 hours of power-mining iron. They save the most on the rocks listed above and they beat both lower pairs on every rock those cover, so they suit long sessions on runite, amethyst, gold, coal or mithril.

Skip them if you only mine briefly. The lower pairs are cheaper and still do something. These are a skilling tool only. For gear that changes fights, use the item list.

Expert mining gloves FAQ

What level do you need for Expert mining gloves?
70 Mining to wear them. To make them you also need to have bought the lower two pairs from the Mining Guild, which needs 60 Mining to enter.
How do you make Expert mining gloves?
Ask Belona in the Mining Guild to combine a pair of Mining gloves with a pair of Superior mining gloves. The fee is 40 unidentified minerals. The two lower pairs cost 40 and 100 minerals, so the full total is 180.
How do you get unidentified minerals?
Mine rocks in the members area of the Mining Guild. The drop chance is 1/100 on iron, 1/60 on coal, 1/40 on mithril, 1/30 on adamantite, and 1/20 on runite or amethyst. Extra ore from mining enhancers does not give extra minerals.
How long does it take to get Expert mining gloves?
Expect about 10 to 12 hours of power-mining iron for the 180 minerals, the fastest mineral source.
Which rocks do Expert mining gloves help with?
Copper, tin, iron, silver, lead, coal and gold rocks get 3 extra gathers. Mithril and adamantite get 2. Runite, sandstone, sunstone and amethyst get 1. Since 14 October 2026 their chance to stop ore depleting also works on Runite Golems.
Do Expert mining gloves stack with other mining boosts?
Yes, the effect stacks with other mining enhancers.
Can you sell Expert mining gloves back to Belona?
No. Unlike the other two pairs, they cannot be sold back to her.
Are Expert mining gloves worth it?
For long Mining sessions, yes, because they are the strongest of the three pairs on every rock they cover. The cost is time in the Guild, not a Grand Exchange price. The gear progression page covers combat upgrades if you would rather spend that time elsewhere.
