What this plan does not count
- Carpenter's outfit: not counted until you set it to "Have". Pieces bought during the plan are not counted.
- Contracts an hour: an estimate you can change above, not your own speed.
- Outfit pieces one at a time and the supply crate (25 points) are not in this planner.
- Every house layout is treated as equally likely, as on the OSRS Wiki. If the game picks the homeowner first, Expert needs up to 1.4% more planks.
How this is worked out
- XP, planks and steel bars per contract are averages over every house layout, from the OSRS Wiki Mahogany Homes article (revision 15374566, checked 2026-10-23; averages unchanged since 15358339). Contracts = XP to your goal ÷ XP per contract, rounded up.
- Carpenter's outfit: +2.5% on all contract XP, including the completion bonus (game update 19 June 2024).
- Contracts an hour: an estimate. Defaults 40 without a plank sack and 50 with one, inside the ranges the OSRS Wiki gives (34–46 and 40–64).
- Carpenter points per contract: Beginner 2, Novice 3, Adept 4, Expert 5. Reward costs from the Mahogany Homes Reward Shop.
- Prices: OSRS Wiki real-time GE prices, through our own copy. Each item uses its instant-buy price (what you pay to buy now) and its own last trade time. An item that has not traded in 48 hours, or has no price, is not counted, so the cost is not shown. No GE tax: you only buy.
- Sawmill fee per plank: 100 / 250 / 500 / 1,500 gp. Plank Make: 70% of that fee plus 2 astral, 1 nature and 15 earth runes per plank.
About Mahogany Homes
Mahogany Homes is a Construction minigame run by Amy in Falador. You take contracts in Falador, Varrock, East Ardougne and Hosidius, and repair furniture with planks and steel bars. There are four tiers: Beginner (level 1, planks), Novice (level 20, oak planks), Adept (level 50, teak planks) and Expert (level 70, mahogany planks). Each contract gives Construction XP and Carpenter points for the plank sack, Amy's saw, the Carpenter's outfit and Hosidius blueprints. This calculator counts the contracts, planks, steel bars and hours to your goal on each tier, with the time of the GE prices it uses. Mahogany Homes FAQ
How many planks do Mahogany Homes contracts need to reach 99?
From level 70 on Expert contracts, without the Carpenter's outfit: about 2,810 contracts, 36,100 mahogany planks and 1,460 steel bars. Enter your own levels above for your count. Building furniture in your own house takes a different number of planks; this calculator counts contracts only.
Do you need nails for Mahogany Homes?
No. You need a hammer, a saw, planks for your tier and some steel bars.
How many contracts can I do per hour?
No source gives one number. The OSRS Wiki says around 50 to 60 an hour with a plank sack, efficient teleports and Astral Contact. Its XP tables suggest about 34 to 46 without a plank sack. The calculator uses an estimate you can change above.
How many contracts until the plank sack and the Carpenter's outfit?
From 0 points, the plank sack (350 points) takes 70 Expert, 88 Adept, 117 Novice or 175 Beginner contracts. The full Carpenter's outfit (2,000 points) takes 400 Expert, 500 Adept, 667 Novice, 1,000 Beginner contracts.
Which contract tier costs the least gp per XP?
It depends on GE plank prices, which change. The tier table above shows gp per XP for each tier, with the time of the prices it uses.
What does the Ironman setting change?
It counts the sawmill fee for each plank (or the Plank Make share of it) instead of GE prices, and tells you how many logs to bring. Steel bars are counted but not priced, because you make them yourself.
