Broad bolts are crossbow bolts with +100 Ranged strength — the same as adamant bolts — that require 55 Slayer and 61 Ranged to use. They are the go-to general-training bolt for many players and, along with broad arrows, are required to kill Turoth and Kurasks with Ranged.
Equipment bonuses
Broad bolts give +100 Ranged strength, matching adamant bolts. They can only be fired from a rune crossbow, dragon hunter crossbow, dragon crossbow, Armadyl crossbow or Zaryte crossbow.
Requires 55 Slayer and 61 Ranged · crossbow ammunition · stackable.
Grand Exchange price history
When to use broad bolts
Broad bolts are as strong as adamant bolts but are often cheaper, so many players use them for everyday Ranged training — always compare the two prices on the Grand Exchange first. They are also mandatory for Ranging Turoth and Kurasks, which resist most other weapons. For bossing, enchanted diamond bolts (e) hit slightly harder (+105) and have an armour-piercing special, so many players save broad bolts for training. Compare setups in the OSRS DPS calculator.
How to get broad bolts
Buy a set of 250 broad bolts for 35 Slayer reward points from any Slayer master, pick them up on the Grand Exchange (live price above), or fletch them yourself at 55 Fletching after unlocking "Broader Fletching" from a Slayer master (300 points) by adding feathers to unfinished broad bolts.
