The Fire cape is a melee cape you earn by completing the TzHaar Fight Cave — surviving 63 waves and defeating TzTok-Jad. It's untradeable, so you can't buy it; it's a long-standing melee milestone, now beaten only by the harder-earned Infernal cape.
Equipment bonuses
Solid all-round defence (+11 to every style), a +4 strength bonus and +2 prayer — a strong, cheap melee cape for its tier.

Cape
How to get the Fire cape
✓ Guaranteed on completion — there is no drop chance
The TzHaar Fight Cave
Enter the Fight Cave in Mor Ul Rek, under the Karamja volcano (TzHaar City).
Survive 63 waves of TzHaar monsters — the difficulty ramps each wave.
Defeat the final boss, TzTok-Jad (combat 702, max hit 97). Pray-flick against its magic and ranged attacks — those are the dangerous ones.
The Fire cape is awarded automatically when the cave is cleared.
Newer option: the Infernal cape (from the Inferno, a much harder version) beats the Fire cape on every offensive stat — but the Fire cape is the standard, far easier melee-cape milestone to earn first.
Fire cape FAQ
How do you get the Fire cape?
Complete the TzHaar Fight Cave — survive 63 waves and beat TzTok-Jad. The cape is guaranteed on completion; there's no drop chance.
What are the Fire cape's stats?
+11 defence in every style, +4 melee strength, +2 prayer and +1 to all attack styles. Cape slot, members.
Can you buy the Fire cape?
No — it's untradeable, so there's no Grand Exchange price. You have to earn it in the Fight Cave.
Fire cape vs Infernal cape?
The Infernal cape wins on every offensive stat (more attack, strength and defence). The Fire cape is the easier, earlier unlock and still a great mid-game cape.
What level do you need for the Fire cape?
There's no hard requirement, but the Fight Cave is a serious fight — most players attempt it around 70+ Ranged and 43+ Prayer (for Protect from Missiles/Magic), with decent gear, so they can safely pray-switch against Jad.
Is 70 Ranged enough for the Fire cape?
Yes — 70 Ranged with a decent bow and 43 Prayer is the common benchmark. Higher Ranged and better gear make it faster and safer, but the cave is beatable around there with good prayer-switching.
Why is the Fight Cave / TzTok-Jad so hard?
Jad hits up to 97 and rapidly alternates between magic and ranged attacks — you have to switch the matching protection prayer on the right animation each time, or take massive damage. The healers it spawns can also re-heal it if you don't pull them off.
Fire cape vs a skillcape?
A skillcape is cosmetic with no combat stats — the Fire cape is a genuine melee combat cape (+11 defence all styles, +4 strength). For fighting, the Fire cape wins; skillcapes are worn to show off a 99.
