The Masori mask is a ranged helm, a rare drop from the Tombs of Amascut. It gives +12 ranged attack and +2 ranged strength. It needs 80 Ranged but only 30 Defence, and a Crafting upgrade can turn it into the fortified mask with much better defences.

Equipment bonuses

The mask is almost all offence: +12 ranged attack and +2 ranged strength, with only a −1 magic attack penalty and no melee penalty. The defences are small: +3 stab, +4 slash, +3 crush, +6 magic and +4 ranged, and no Prayer bonus.

How to get the Masori mask

The mask is only ever created as a Tombs of Amascut drop, so the Grand Exchange is the other route.

Ways to obtain it
Tombs of Amascut — a rare unique from the end-of-raid chest, at 2/24 of the unique table once a unique has been rolled, at raid level 150 to 300. Below raid level 150 it needs an extra 1/50 roll, and above 300 its share rises. Only one unique can drop per raid.
Grand Exchange — tradeable, buy limit 8 every 4 hours.

Your chance of any unique depends on your contribution and the raid level you chose. Higher raid levels make drops and uniques more likely.

Where the Masori mask is used

The mask is a ranged-only helm, and it is used for ranged strategies against Zulrah, Vorkath, Demonic gorillas, Chambers of Xeric, the Tombs of Amascut ranged switch, The Leviathan and some Slayer tasks such as Fossil Island wyverns.

Masori armour is a ranged set. It has no melee accuracy penalty, unlike the Armadyl set.

You can wear it unfortified with just 30 Defence, so a low-Defence account can use it. If you later want the extra defences, the fortified version uses an Armadylean plate, which comes from chiselling an Armadyl helmet.

Masori mask compared with the Armadyl helmet

Against the Armadyl helmet, the mask gives +2 more ranged attack, +2 ranged strength and a smaller magic penalty. The helmet gives +10 crush and +10 magic defence against the mask's +3 and +6.

The fortified version closes that gap: it adds defence in every style and +1 Prayer while keeping the same offence, at the cost of needing 80 Defence and a 90 Crafting plate step. For the rest of your ranged kit, see ranged gear.

Masori mask FAQ

What level do you need for the Masori mask?
80 Ranged and 30 Defence. The fortified version raises the Defence requirement to 80.
How do you get the Masori mask?
It is a rare unique drop from the Tombs of Amascut, at 2/24 of the unique table at raid level 150 to 300. Below raid level 150 its chance is cut sharply. It is tradeable, with a buy limit of 8 every 4 hours.
How likely is a unique in the Tombs of Amascut?
It depends on how much you contribute and on the raid level. A higher raid level raises both your overall drops and the chance of a unique. Only one unique can come from each raid.
What is the fortified Masori mask?
An upgrade made by combining the mask with an Armadylean plate, which needs 90 Crafting and cannot be undone. The fortified mask needs 80 Defence and has better defences and a +1 Prayer bonus, with the same offence.
Masori mask or Armadyl helmet?
The mask gives more offence: +12 ranged attack and +2 ranged strength, against the Armadyl helmet's +10 and 0. The helmet has better defences, but needs 70 Defence and 70 Ranged rather than 30 and 80.
Does the Masori mask come in a set?
Yes. It is one of three pieces: the mask, the body and the chaps. All three can be fortified, and the fortified pieces are on Masori body (f) and Masori chaps (f). The Masori body needs 80 Ranged and 30 Defence and has the highest Ranged attack bonus of any body slot item.
Is the Masori mask worth it?
For a ranged setup that meets the 80 Ranged requirement, it gives +12 ranged attack and +2 ranged strength, and it is used for many ranged bosses. If you only want better defence, the fortified version or the Armadyl helmet is a better fit.
