Farming is unlike any other skill — it's run-based, not hourly. You plant trees, herbs and crops, then go do something else for a few hours and return to harvest and replant. Tree and hardwood-tree runs give the biggest XP per trip, while herb runs quietly supply your Herblore. The hourly figures here are effective estimates over active time, not continuous training.

What's the fastest way to train Farming in OSRS?
Tree and hardwood-tree runs give the most XP per trip — teak and mahogany trees especially. Because Farming is run-based, the real speed comes from doing a full circuit of tree, fruit-tree and herb patches each cycle, then logging off until they grow.
How long does Farming take to 99?
Because it's capped by real-time growth, 99 Farming is usually measured in weeks of daily runs rather than hours of clicking. The calculator shows effective XP/hr over active time, but the calendar pace depends on how many runs you do per day.
Is Farming worth training in OSRS?
Yes — it supplies your own herbs for Herblore (huge for ironmen), produces valuable crops and tree saplings, and is one of the most relaxed skills because you only play it in short bursts between other activities.
