The Armadyl chestplate is the ranged body armour from the God Wars Dungeon. It needs 70 Defence and 70 Ranged, has strong defence bonuses (+70 magic defence and +61 crush) and +33 ranged attack. How to get the Armadyl chestplate

The chestplate drops from Armadyl's followers in the God Wars Dungeon.

Ways to obtain it
Kree'arra — 1/381 per kill, the best rate by far.
His bodyguards — Flight Kilisa, Wingman Skree and Flockleader Geerin each drop it at 1/16,129.
Grand Exchange — tradeable, buy limit 8 every 4 hours.

It can also be turned into four Armadylean plates with a chisel at 90 Crafting. That destroys the chestplate, so only do it on purpose.

Where the Armadyl chestplate is used

It is a recommended ranged body for content such as Kree'arra, K'ril Tsutsaroth, General Graardor, Nex, the Chambers of Xeric and Slayer tasks such as abyssal demons, jellies and skeletons, though usually behind stronger options. Check the ranged gear page for full builds.

It is also a source of Armadylean plates for fortified Masori armour. One chestplate yields four plates, and the fortified Masori body takes four plates.

Is the Armadyl chestplate worth it?

It is a strong defensive body for a ranged setup. The +70 magic defence helps against mages, and the crush and ranged defences are high for the slot. The melee and magic attack penalties are not an issue for a pure ranged gearset.

It is outclassed on offence by the Masori body, which has more ranged attack and a ranged strength bonus. Pair the chestplate with the Armadyl chainskirt for the set. Use the DPS calculator to compare setups.

Armadyl chestplate FAQ

What level do you need for the Armadyl chestplate?
70 Defence and 70 Ranged. There is no quest requirement.
Where does the Armadyl chestplate drop?
From Kree'arra at 1/381, and from his bodyguards Flight Kilisa, Wingman Skree and Flockleader Geerin at 1/16,129 each. All of them are in the God Wars Dungeon.
What is the Armadyl chestplate used for besides wearing?
Using a chisel on it at 90 Crafting gives four Armadylean plates and 840 Crafting XP. Plates are used to fortify Masori armour, so the chestplate is a material for a fortified Masori body.
Does the Armadyl chestplate hurt melee attacks?
Yes. It gives −7 to stab, slash and crush attack, and −15 magic attack. That is why it may be a weaker pick when you use several attack styles.
Armadyl chestplate or Masori body?
The Masori body has +43 ranged attack and +4 ranged strength, and needs 80 Ranged and 30 Defence. The chestplate has lower ranged attack, no ranged strength, but much higher defence bonuses, and needs 70 Defence and Ranged.
Does the Armadyl chestplate go with the chainskirt?
Yes, they are part of the same set, along with the Armadyl helmet. The Armadyl chainskirt is the legs piece.
Is the Armadyl chestplate good for Prayer training?
It is a recommended body for Prayer training setups built around high Magic defence or Dinh's bulwark, including the Chaos Temple.
Is the Armadyl chestplate worth buying?
It makes sense if you want defence on a ranged setup and cannot yet use the Masori body. For offence, look at the Masori armour.
