Uncut onyx is a rare gem. You cut it with a chisel at 67 Crafting to get an onyx, and onyx is the base for amulet of fury, berserker necklace and regen bracelet. It has no use on its own, so this page is about where it comes from and what cutting it turns it into.
Grand Exchange price history
How to get uncut onyx
Uncut onyx is a rare drop from several bosses and chests, and one shop sells it for Tokkul.
The Grand Exchange is the other route, since uncut onyx is tradeable.
What uncut onyx is used for
Cutting it with a chisel gives 167.5 Crafting XP and one onyx. From there the onyx goes into jewellery and a few other items.
Is cutting uncut onyx worth it?
Cutting it is a small Crafting step, one chisel click for 167.5 XP. The real question is the gap between the live uncut and cut prices, which moves, so compare both before you cut. It is a very expensive way to train Crafting.
Buying it from the Mor Ul Rek shop for Tokkul is the one source that does not depend on a drop. Everything else is a rare roll.
